Perry and job creation

Perry supporters like to tout the number of jobs that Perry "created", in of of itself a misnomer, since unless he actually hired an employee, he didn't create a job. That said, Perry and friends take credit for setting "job creating policies" and business friendly environment, limiting wages, introducing some tort reform etc.
Now for some additional facts, Perry creates more minimum jobs than any other governor in the nation, even Mississippi. Perry also doubled the unemployment rate in Texas, from 4.1% when he took office, to over 8.2% now. Not the best record to run on if he wants to contrast himself with Obama. Plus the ever growing deficit in Texas made Perry realize that his days as governor are numbered, and he wants, no, needs to get out before he would face a rebellion from all but the religious wing-nuts and tea-baggers.

Sorry, but his record on jobs is not one that you can take away from him. Despite the influx of illegals and a fed unwilling to do anything about it (and, btw, Perry has also supported amnesty in his day), he has been credited with creating over half of the jobs in the entire US, per this administration's records. And, the unemployment and job growth rates exceed the nation.

Some want to discredit it because of population growth, but people move where the jobs are and Perry has been very, very aggressive at pulling in jobs, businesses, and people from other states. Yes, many jobs are low income but this also reflects the population in the state - a huge influx of illegals and Katrina evacuees - and those that stayed are because they have no means to go somewhere else. These aren't highly mobile college grads we're talking about.

See the attached report - hispanics/latinos are the largest growing population in Texas, and along with blacks, have the lowest education levels. This education level translates to low income jobs.

And since you want to talk about Bush so much let's look at his deficit spending v. Illegal Barry.

Looks to me that Obama did inherit 2009 debt.

"The 2009 fiscal year began October 1, 2008, nearly four months before Obama took office. The budget for the entire fiscal year was largely set in place while Bush was in the White House. So as we update the chart to show the Bush fiscal years in green, we can see that Obama is partly right in claiming that he inherited a mess (though Obama actually deserves a small share of the blame for Bush’s last deficit since earlier this year he pushed through both an “omnibus” spending bill and the so-called stimulus bill that increased FY2009 spending)."
