I hear that coming out of the California ABl meeting a few months back, ABLs were coached/told to put more and more people on development plans in 2024.
Anyone else here this?

KPI/Metrics (we better lie more), sales achievement (depends heavily on quota goals)

Not exactly but they have been told they are too easy on the reps when it comes to providing feedback. They’ve been told they need to start giving people 1’s and 2’s for anything they need to work on instead of a 3 so they can “upskill” the rep and show coaching “impact”

If they start handing out P.I.P.'s like they hand out bonus dollars, you're all pretty safe.

If they didn’t put any of the 3 stooges on a pip by now, we should all be confident it won’t happen to us.

That’s really funny but senior leaders rarely get put on plans. If they mess up they somehow get better roles within the organization or put in an area where they can’t do more harm. Maybe because the people who have hired them don’t want to take accountability for their bad performance

Duane Kalsinski is still drawing a Novartis paycheck.
A substantial number of the reps who were forced to participate in his unhinged F.T.O. scheme lost their jobs.
This will forever be "Exhibit A" of how home office slapdicks will go to any length to cover for one another.

Nail on head. Novartis tends to put the most incompetent people in leadership roles. And then promotes them. I’ve never understood this. It’s bad business. Perhaps they prefer sheep or puppets for showmanship or people who don’t ask questions, just do what your told mentality.

I came here from another of the Big 5 pharma companies HQed in NY-NJ-PA area. I left there because of their penchant for hiring and promoting incompetent sycophants. The irony is that it's just as bad here.

The thing that stands out to me is sales don’t even seem to matter here. Oh, you’re going to hear about it if you’re at the bottom, but nobody even notices or cares when you do well. Sales numbers will not earn you a promotion, a raise, nor even a shout out most of the time. I’ve never worked for a company with so little recognition for top performers.
