PCP feedback re Symbicort intro phase

Mostly very good so far. I have been doing pretty much full blown details early explaining to the PCP's that samples will be sent later this month.

Most are happy to have a choice in combo Asthma therapies now.

Pretty encouraging so far...we will see...

They love hearing that Symbicort works faster even though it is not necessary in a maintenance medication.

They also like to hear that it works so fast that patient will abuse as a rescue medication....oh and you are promoting it this way.

Don't forget that onset is your main message but is also there with control which you say is comparable to other combination products in the market. Yeah right. Have you seen the dropout rates in your clinical studies? What a joke....pMDIs are old school, they work but they are old school.

If you think you will be able to hit 10% share with this product you are KIDDING yourself. We are betting it takes 1 full year to hit 10% new market share.

I was at one of my keye PCP offices today and I watched him and his PA write 3 RX'es for Symbicort.

Let the games begin!

------------------------
Like managed car is going to let them be dispensed.

Uhhh..where I am, Symbicort is on the state Medicaid plan, and on equal tiers with advair on Humana, Aetna, BCBS and Caremark which are huge payors for me...

and the formulary status gets better every day!

No problems getting it filled here!

A rep from some company (the doctor wouldn't tell me who) was in one of my Allergist's office and told the doctor that they are offering $1000 dollars to any doctor that will testify that an AZ rep told them to use Symbicort as a rescue drug. Anyone else hear this?

I heard it too. This does not surprise me about our competitors. This is a dirty business and the more we take from our friends the dirtier it is going to get. This will be nothing compared to Crestor.
