PC Position

I am looking at a PC position in the Southeast. Just looking for an idea of what to expect in the interview process. I have been in pharma for a while and am just not too familiar with Astellas. Keep the negative notes to yourself please. Just looking for what type of interviews to expect and maybe some salary ranges. The research I have done so far is very positive and dare I say these guys might be different in a good way? Thanks for those of you who can be mature enough to post real answers.

U r joining a high performing area so u should be making decent bonus. Salary is probably on par with other companies it's just depends on what your making now and years of experience. Usually phone screen, followed by f2f interview with brining manager and maybe one other manager. If they all like u get final interview with director. Competency bases so have examples of the usual Pharma competences. Good luck

It's not different here than any other big Pharma co. It used to be. Most of sales measurements are activity based. Our market is about to be turned upside down with generic DLA. I've been here many years and have seen the changes for the negative. Currently looking. If you need the job then sure but if you get an offer from a truly mid or small pharm culture then I'd take it over astellas...and I will.

I'm interviewing as well with Astellas and was wondering the same things. Good luck.

What do you mean my activity based? Number of MD calls, Pharmacy calls, etc. ? What products are being promoted in primary care?
How are you treated vs your other sales forces?
Thanks

How are you treated? who gives a f**k? What are you, 10 years old? Of course there will be a standard set of a targeted # of calls. What an idiot!

Anyone have input on what to expect for a salary range? I know it can vary based on experience and location. I just want to make sure I am not wasting anyone's time if the salary is entry level since it is a PC position. Thanks

Everything is tracked including calls/day, sample allocation to which decile, signatures/day, marketing resource utilization (even if the resource is completely useless) - this could be follow up letters to docs or a dinner program- , which pages on iPad detail piece you use and how long, and you are physically tracked as well via iPad GPS locator. I'm sure forgetting something. Short version HQ treats reps as if they are inept & would be lost w/o their wisdom & guidance.

Products are Vesicare &Myrbetriq but you should already know that if you're going to interview.

Astellas is very much like Vegas. Looks great from the outside until you realize it is only a facade. If you are comfortable sacrificing ethics, morality, and being treated like an adult, then by all means continue with the interviewing process.

Silver Lining -- If you are new-ish to the field then Astellas is great because you'll hate it so much due to the ethical/adminstrative problems, you'll work harder to get a job at a different Pharma company or save your money and go back to school for a different career.

Pharma is pharma. Just pray you have a good, realistic manager who knows the game. Anyone who's done this for more than a year knows every trick. Play the game and you won't get burned. Check the box mentality. Not sales.

While I appreciate the input from the board, nobody has given any real answers about the thread. We all know there are a lot of bad things to say about this position and every company out there. I was simply asking about the PC position and trying to find out a salary range. If you know or have an idea, any real input would be great. Thanks

New to thread. I'm also looking at a PC position. I have 10 years experience and would like a realistic range on salary range. The job description says that the final title would be based on experience, so I gather that I could be hired in at "senior sales rep" which would be a different salary range? Am I wrong?

This may be a big shock to someone that hasn't had to look for a new job in a while, but not all pharma companies pay the same for the same amount of experience. Forest pharma only starts out at $52k regardless of experience and other would start out at $90k for 10 years. That is a big range. Is there anyone on this tread that can just give answers?
