Patient Services

Interested in a role on this team, but have heard about its micro-managing, toxic culture. How is this team?
You heard right. Don't think that going to Patient Services will finally mean you'll be treated like a capable adult. Too many primary care managers now working patient services that have no clue how to do the role they're managing. So they revert back to their old Abbott micromanagement comfort zone.

OM FAS team is a joke, riding around begging offices to submit all their PA's sitting in cover my meds. They're in a mad scramble to look busy. The sales team already does their job for them. The brand teams need to go ahead and cut the cord.

Patient services can be a useful role if you want to come in to the gig to work with the sales team to help the patients and offices. Most of the people in patient services move slow. If you’re fast paced, you’ll look like a rockstar.

Why is this team doing routing and aggravating our customers when there is no follow-up needed? Offices are complaining they see FAS coming in constantly and apologizing for having to come by so often. How is this a good use of resources? My FAS says they're expected in the field 4 days a week.

Very true about 4 days a week. Way too much for the role. There are so many offices that need the hand holding. I pull through my salary and benefits in less than two weeks after January 1. It is a shame I have to get these FAN's to do their job, but it is the way MediBusiness works now. Hire the least motivated and capable to handle the day to day - thank you ObummerCare.

But, it keeps me employed. previous poster about Primary Care Managers micromanaging is SOOOOOO true. We are not on Sales calls, how do you coach a call if you cannot measure the pull through?

Measuring I-Rep requests and if you're on the low end you're getting coached. Pretty shady to think that measurement means anything with a sales force that tries to do everything themselves. What a joke.
