Did I hear correctly that Pathnostics is offering big bucks to doctors in exchange for UTI specimens in a thinly veiled kickback attempt?

Yes! From a friend who works for them:

Pathnostics is offering money to docs in exchange for testing so that they can increase utilization in order to gain approval of their own ICD-10 code. They are billing $1200 per test and paying docs $50 per test. This friend is looking for a new job. He plans to leave before the whole thing blows up. The Dept. of Justice is investigating.
