P4 end

Ok so let me get this straight they will let us know sometime after the Pfizer folks know on the 20th of Dec and the effective date of this "operational change" will take place on Jan 1st. So we get a week notice? Is that legal I thought we had to get atleast 30 days notice. I really appreciate being let known on christmas eve that my job is gone and I have christmas week to new years to find a new one-great plan!

I am really confused about how the process will work and can't seem to get any clarification. I was assuming that on Dec 20 they would tell us if we did or did not have a job and that would be it. As a contract rep, I think it is pretty cut and dry, and they don't have to employ us until the 1st.
i dont' understand why they hired all these P4 reps and just sent them through training if this was going to happen. Decisions to cut this many people are not made over night- so they had to know this was coming

The new pfizer contract will be with PDI but I don't think it starts until mid Jan. They have already started their interviews but are not allowed to make any offers until Jan(don't know if early/late Jan)
Would guess that the publicis contract is going to be over by Jan 1st and then the PD1 reps will be out by Feb?

I don't understand why they would let go of the entire P4 force. I was told during training which was just this past month that the contract was extended and the majority of new hires are P4 reps-
WHy would they do that if they knew they were going to be letting go of everyone?

also-i have looked at the PDI website and they don't have any postings in my state- If Pfizer was planning on using PDI for their women's sale force, wouldn't PDI need to interview this month, or at least have postings on their website

The same reason the P4 contract moved 226 people to the EPBU in October of 2011 only to let them all go in March of 2012. Training has its own bucket for cost....nothing to do with anything else.

Check out Cafe Pharma PDI site. PDI hired for ADHD Pfizer drug in Jan.

I have heard that the PDI folks selling Premarin orals are done 12/31/2012-so I would think the Publicis P4 folks would take over the womens health part-whatever that breaks our to be I have no idea?

We're you told they'd be making an offer after the start of the new year?

I was told I would be made an offer in 2013, but then received the computer generated letter stating I would not be hired for this position. I have called the publicis recruiter but she hasn't returned my call. I'm assuming it is over.

Seems like Pfizer has had contracts with both PDI and Publicis ongoing for quite a while. Hard to say if anything going on with PDI would mean anything for P4 contracts.

my manager told me we would also find out on the 20th, i'm assuming that we will be told to stay home that day and expect a phone call during a window of time. Or, they may tell us to work in the field and expect a phone call at a certain time-
Last time I was laid off, we had a conference call in the a.m. and then were told that our managers would be calling us. They will probably not want anyone in the field that day
