It's a PS thing. Don't think for a minute that KK has any intellect to organize a sales force herself, let alone having any type of strategic thought process. She does exactly what PS wishes and his ability to lead or do something strategic is nonexistent.

you must be new. In the 80's there was one rep to a territory. The pod system didn't start until after the pharma code was put into place and you had to influence physicans by your products feature and benefits and not a steak dinner and floor seats to basketball games.

You are sooooooo incorrect. As someone who has been in pharma since WAY before the PRMA guidelines existed, I can say that with 100% confidence. Pod-selling was definitely occurring in the 80's. Perhaps you weren't born yet, and that's why you didn't know that.

Yep- gotta love know-it-alls. Pods have been around for quite some time. We are in the midst of an old playbook, with a leadership that has little to offer.

Pod selling began in late 90s thanks to ZS convincing companies that more feet on the street is how to grow business. That led to very upset customers who starting feeling overwhelmed by multiple reps but still loved the free lunches and dinners. Phrma guidelines kicked in 2003 and then they stopped all the freebies and set a limit.

Who cares anyway, its a tactic that doesn't work anymore and leaves our customers sick of us. Nice job PS and KK. But we all know these moves are all temporary until you move on to the next unsuspecting company like a swarm of locusts.
