Overheard Firings and Selling

Doran refuses to come clean with us in the sales force. Phoenix was a joke. I would have rather been out selling that week. The company, however, has little ears and are listening. RIF, reduction in force coming as early as mid-May to June. Targets are sales force (again), R&D will be hit yet again, marketing will be cleaned out and replaced by a few of Doran's outside pics. The lab will face reductions with less tests, that's already in the works, finance will be farmed out keeping 3 to 4 key people in place. O'cain is worthless (as anyone in finance will tell you) and an ass and will be a casualty for sure. Cuts in every department will be mandatory. Watch for spending to be frozen. It's time to go. Be ready, find a recruiter, monster.com, classifieds, just start looking. Get your references in order and be smart. Even if the company is sold, they could sweep thru with these cuts and even take out more of us replacing with their own people. This is your wake up call. Exit, stage left. If you're in training right now, you are wasting your time. Everything they have taught the last 10 groups has not worked. Think about it. Doran and Hilldale are their to sell the company, period.

say it aint so... "if you're in training right now, you are wasting your time. Everything they have taught the last 10 groups has not worked."

That would put some fault in the hands of the training Director. Can it be she isn't what she claims to be? That it takes so many weeks to train people yet they are still unsuccessful?

The question comes up on every earnings call. "Are the reps being trained effectively?"

I know someday soon she will have to be gel accountable and we will all be singing "DING DONG the witch is dead"

Wondering how long it will take before the lab folk start to go. What does "already in the works" mean in real life? They should know they are on the way out, but to hear them talk, they think the are sitting pretty. Less work equals less people! Do you think they will be kept around through the 90 day contract crud with HDL? Or will the cutbacks start sooner than later. Wise up peeps!

Don't need to fire anyone from sales. We have been resigning one at a time. I just recently tendered my resignation. Best of luck to the rest of you. TGIF company has the worst training and management of any company I have ever worked for.

Venting here I understand. But, insanity if one continues to do the same thing over and over with no resolve. Ive had some bad twists in life. Divorce, bankruptcy failing health. I suggest tryn to move on with some attitudes here. Yelling and screaming @ Doran and existing employess only shows the misery of one person. They call it a "victim" syndrome. If you are not a teenager, its time to grow up, this is real life now. GLTA

I look at these posts here much differently. Lipo's forums use to be relatively quiet. A sign of a sales force that was happy and content or at least sufficiently enough to not feel the need to put the co on BLAST. The current culture and lack of respect for the sales mgmt team is what leads to this type of posting.

Yep. M is gone. More going. Senior management’s standard line is “the people leaving aren’t the people we want anyway”. Maybe Howard has a clue. Maybe. But the team from Hologic are clueless. It’s only the RSM’s down that have been around long enough to know what is possible and what isn't. Wait till the Q2 quotas hit. Wait for it....wait for it....BOOM! Bet we find out how outta touch these “leaders” really are...

This company has one chance left which is to grow through full service labs. Good news is that LS has good relationships now with LabCorp and others after disconnecting from HDL. Bad news is that it’s tough to grow through full service labs and the quota expectations might be unreasonable. Do we give up? I have no equity in this company, but I have a ton of sweat equity. It’s a great test. Others are trying to replicate it, but they don’t have the data or validation. Does it matter? It should, but doesn’t always. Poor management over the last 6 years has lead us to this point. Can’t just pin it on the guys who are there now, but they sure aren’t helping. First things first. Find a way to shut HDL down. Federal indictment, managed care initiative, drone strike, carpet bomb, whatever... Evil people shouldn’t prevail.

Understand that her job is to teach you about the product, NOT teach you how to sell. She does exactly that. It’s not a tough test to explain and get someone to agree to order. If you can’t get the units to follow the yes, blame yourself for being a shitty salesperson, not the trainer.
