After being with the company for a little bit, I’ve come to the conclusion that Otsuka is a rest stop for people on their way to other companies and careers (or laid off from one of the big Pharma companies); is an assisted living facility for people with very low ambition or skill set (but food is free on the AMEX and they have the car to run errands and pick up the kids from school); or people that are lucky enough to land this gig and can just coast…coast…coast
The last group is the counterpart that sends in lunch and then shows up 3 1/2 hours later with a sign in sheet so they get a signature from the doctor at 4 PM for samples (saw this with my own two eyes… where wearing clothes straight out of the dirty clothes hamper).
They started their day by taking the kid to preschool, stopping by Starbucks on the way so they can get their caffeine fix and big blueberry muffin, and then grab coffee for a big Office so they look like a real go-getter.
The final Elites are the ones that have hit the corporate lottery They have no quota, a boss that checked out 10 years ago, and gave their friend a cush high paying job so they can have lunch together on the company’s time. They eventually get discovered, and it’s not pretty.
