OPTIMIZED OR SCREWED UP







Mine sucks...Because of these SCS positions (in our case the Pittsburgh SCS Rep) that were added they shifted things around in Ohio drastically...I think this outside company does not have a clue what they have done to our territories...Sucks
 












BOSE also added back in targets that were deleted months and years ago to our territories that are going to screw up baselines and potential of growth with our new quota system in Q1

Hey, this was not done by us RD's...95% of this was done before we even got to the meeting that day so we could not make a say in this whole mess...It was the Zone Directors and in this case, Tim McGiven, that could have done something for us but he did not want to put his neck out for his reps or RD's...So all of this anger should be put towards him

look at the roster and tell us all who the pittsburgh scs is. there isn't any and YOU dont know what you're talking about which is why you were shifted to make room for people who have a clue.

do you believe if you keep saying it then its true? again there is no scs rep in pittsburgh.
 






I seriously doubt that anything was done just to "spite" any one territory or region in Ohio. There are too may areas that are affected by those changes.
The real question is.. How many of us only kept 10-15 (or less) of our current docs? What happened to relationships being the most important?
NOTHING optimized here..., Not travel, Not access, Not relationships...
Is this the case with many others?
If so, we need to speak up!

It is the same with my territory. I was definitely screwed. However, I don't think speaking up will help. Adapt to the change & move on or put a target on your back.
 












I am optimized and am in full S.W.OT. mode. Can't wait to work on my relationship edge as I improve on my abilities as a sales person. Green Light Go!

i am cool with the optimization as long as the sales management team didnt fill our regional directors stocking full with Zig Zigler, Jerry Acuff, and Steven Covey books. Only a fool believes that BS works!
 






Keep it simple!
For many of the good reps, they already do the jobs of the SCS. Their is no reason to add 34 more positions. What happened to selling to those that want to buy? How do you sell a product to individuals who want nothing to do with pharmaceutical companies. Optimization in what sense? how do you sell to doctors that will not meet with you.
My suggestion would be to base the sales numbers on the zip codes. So for instance if a representative cannot get in to see the targeted docs, they could work to find those offices and doctors that want to partner with shire and better the lives of their adhd patient(thus getting the scripts elsewhere).
As for the RD's stop with the dog and pony show at corporate and discuss the relevant issues within your regions. Discuss manage care, Access, and strategy. NO two states are the same!
I would say it is optimally Screwed up.
 






you have no idea what the SCS reps are doing and if the "good" reps could do their job or not. From what I understand from my RD most of the SCS reps are "top reps" So let me get this right.......... a rep will call on 80 doctors and also call on the psychologist, institutions, social workers, therapist and advocacy groups etc? How do you think that reps numbers would look? prob not very good. Think before you speak and know what you are talking about. The SCS reps will help us in the future. A lot of our docs refer to the folks they are calling on so I think it will help us field reps.
 






You are right with regards to Shires Idea for their SCS reps. Would they hire their "Top Reps" based on performance? Yes, Of course; their numbers are great. Would you then hire for the SCS position with individuals who already have the skill set to accomplish the task at hand?Yes....of course! For many of the 80 targets already share offices with the pyscholigists and therapists. These reps are also the ones already attending local CHAD meetings and talking with their childrens schools. WIll the SCS reps help the field reps in the future? Yes especially the Lazy ones. Earn you pay and dont expect others to do it for you.
