Opportunity- please give advice

I came from pharma and have been at ZOLL for 3 years. I've done well, and love the product, like my manager but some of the chaos and time I spend working because of idiots in house has worn on me and I also question senior leadership decisions and whether or not I can grow at the rate I have in the past. I am very concerned about my future here and have a family to think of. I've been offered a job with a $35k increase in base in pharma with less overall earning potential, but still a very good opportunity with bonus target of $30 and great benefits If you were in my shoes what would you do? I'd like to see the future with ZOLL but I'm terrified.

In the words of iron maiden, "Run to the hills" and get the flock out of here!

You have no choice but to leave. None of us have a choice. There are very few zoll reps not actively looking to leave. Two reps I know are leaving for pharma. You know if people are leaving for pharma, it must be really bad.

Tms and Rms have been clearly articulating the need for change to senior leadership for years. And it has been ignored for years, in spite of a 50% turnover and countless red flags. As said on every thread, senior leadership either doesn't care or is incompetent. From what I've observed over several years, it is both.

It sounds as though you are at the tipping point where the constant increase in quota will be very difficult and it is important to realize that you will NOT be making the money that you have. I think the pharma role with a 35% increase in salary is a good opportunity that you may want to consider seriously. Pharma right now is a lot better than it was a few years ago. Companies are more focused on keeping employees happy and the work life balance is more in line with having a real life other than the 24/7 of Zoll. Additionally when you have vacation time you can really be on vacation. Holidays are real days off and not coming out of your vacation time and many pharma companies are closed the week between Christams and New Years so that accounts for additional time off adding to work life balance. Look at the benefits, I'll bet you will be paying less out of pocket for health insurance and overall have more benefits than Zoll. Pharma isn't laying off every year as in the past and the many companies have bottomed out in the lay offs and now are growing again and find themselves in positions where they are fighting over good candidates. I would think seriously about the opportunity.

Stay here at Zoll. We are actively fixing the leaks and Zoll is poised to have a great 2016 and 2017. You would be crazy to leave. The company has solidified a stellar management team and has learned from past mistakes. Get on board or else get PIP'd!!

First time I've seen "stellar" and this management team used in the same sentence. If there's a single person in the field (TMs and RMs) who thinks our leaders are even competent, I'd be shocked.

If the job is in CA stay away. Managers are shinning there nose on directors ass and love to put their daiichi kiss asses in tow!

Everyone has known to stay away from CA for a very long time. You can only kiss ass for so long as the 2 week quota increases. Every single manager there knows their time is limited until the quota spins out of control.
