They're are holding open jobs open. Layoff time or just deciding if they need it job filled. Now that is the question! Neither seems good.

Layoffs just occurred in GI (Salix) for KAM's, FAM's, & Pain sales force, and Derm division just did layoffs across their 3 sales forces. B&L, as well as Salix GI sales forces (Futura, Willow, Integra, and Polaris), are likely next.

Cast offs. Well, not exactly. How about "Unqualifieds". Salix has hired more than a few over the past few months, especially for it's new Polaris GI sales force that is tasked with selling Xifaxan for HE to PCPs (keep in mind that PCPs rarely see an HE patient, and when they do they almost always quickly refer to a GI or Hep immediately without writing a script). Would have made more sense for Polaris to be selling Xifaxan for IBS to the PCPs, but Futura and Willow sales forces already doing that. Integra sells Xifaxan for HE to GI & Hep and that makes sense. But I digress. Polaris is comprised of many inexperienced reps. Many do not have any industry experience, and some (I suppose are nice people - in the words of Trump) lack 4-year college degrees. This is fact and it shows how desperate Valeant had become to fill positions in recent months. We'll see how many keep their jobs in the months ahead as Salix GI sales forces become the next target for cuts.
