Openings

Expansion!

Exactly. Capital reps sold 147 new robot systems last quarter and we need more good reps to cover the accounts. It's a great job. I came here from Covidien 2 years ago as a CSR and have never been in a better place in my career. I hope we get some good talent in these upcoming CAST classes. I hear the class next month has over 50 people in it already. Good luck trainers!

Do any of you know if Intuitive will provide or assist with relo? There are a couple openings I would consider but none in the area I currently live in.

Will they ever hire out of territory/state candidates?

Thanks.

No, they will not help with relo; you're on your own dime there. Yes they will consider from out of territory. You'll have to travel to meet with the hiring manager, but after that, you're going to have to fly to one of the recruitment days to meet with other managers anyway. Have a very specific relocation plan that you include, in writing, as a part of your interview process.

Ok, thanks. That is very helpful.

they are paying recruiters $20K-$30K left and right to get good reps. I'm sure they can afford a relo package. The biggest issue is getting the hiring manager to look at your resume being an out of towner. You should contact hiring mgr directly. Try Marshall Coyle on Linkedin.

Nice post earlier from HR person talking about how great ISRG is. The reason for all of the openings is that this is a churn and burn company with roughly 35% turnover and the leadership if you want to call it that is shitty at best.

Now, time for some DB from the company to talk about how "not everyone can handle the culture" or some mindless dribble that our company has spoonfed him/her.

Think of this....if this company is so great and only hires the best of the best, then why are we holding "cattle calls" where we have to hire en masse? Hmmmm.

As for my region, we've only had about 10% turnover and most of those folks were weaker links on their teams. I don't think it's whether or not they could handle the culture, but seems that some people really want to be done by 3pm everyday and money is not the big driver; so they can take a $100k paycut. To each their own there.

Most of these positions are new head count, again speaking for my region, with only 1 of the new postings from turnover; most of it growth. There's a different arguement that can be made about how healthy it is to keep adding heads to only contract in 3years because growth is unsustainable.

You're way off idiot. Check the numbers. Turnover is at around 17% which is much closer to industry standard

Intuitive doesn't pay for relocation. Even if you are promoted w/in the company and need to move to a different region, they will not cover relocation. There's definitely a decent turn over rate here. Whoever said it's 17%, is waaay off. With that being said, we're growing like crazy. I've been here 4 years. When I started, there were 6 reps in my city. Now there are 19!!

I love the tough guy name calling posts. Tell you what, if you want to call names why don't you own up to it, stop being a coward and put your name/location on a post. How funny would it be for us all to hear the story how someone showed up and beat the f&ck out of you all for trying to be a "smart guy" on CP.

Knowing this will never happen, its still funny to think about. In reality this will illicit another "tough guy" response.

Bro, it's career suicide to put your name on a board; you know that. Not the name caller, but I pretty sure your pansy ass couldn't whip the fat cow that you have to bring lunch to every day, but " you can go on back now; he's got a few seconds"

I'd hate to disappoint you, you little queen....aren't you suppose to be at the Chick-Fil-A "kiss in" protest right now with your boyfriend?

Now that the hostility posters are done, can we get some real info on this job? What is pay structure, culture, average sales cycle, etc. ?
Thanks in advance to all serious replies.

The in house recruiters are clueless regarding qualified candidates

I did hear that someone by the name of Coyle at ISI is terrible. Is he a recruiter or an HR employee?

I was told he uses questionable tactics when interviewing candidates and then he doesnt provide the professional courtesy of thanks but no thanks after candidates spent a lot of time and effort in the interview process.

Yes, Marshall Coyle. He has no concept of what makes a good rep...tends to like the subservient types, which in turn make terrible sales reps. He would never survive in the field, nor the high pressure environment in the OR.
