Only One D-1 College Football team Finished With a Perfect Record in 2012

Yeah, that be a fact, NTL.

But they had some real squeakers and their point margin of victory was not very impressive in 2012, even against some particularly shitty teams.

What I like about OSU is their will to win. They play to the competition. Somehow they always found a way to get the "W".

They say that 'close' only counts in sex and hand grenades. In college football 'close' doesn't really mean jack. People only look at your W-L record. The rest is noize.

I often wondered how OSU would have fared against Bama. I know they would have put on a much better show than the Irish.

But I looked at OSU's 2013 schedule. The only opponents worth a shit are Wisconsin and Michigan (maybe) and perhaps Purdue. The rest suck.

If that's the calibre of schedule they play it's hard to really take them seriously in 2013.

Well, I realize that it's not as tough as the Mountain West Schedule, with such heavies as New Mexico State, but you can only play who is on your schedule. Urban is going to rule the Big Ten (14) for years to come.

I think you missed my point. No one is comparing OSU with a Mountain West team.

Here, let me give you the FACTS.

OSU beat the following by:

UCF 2 TD's
UC Cal 1 TD
Michigan St. 1 Pt.
U of Indiana 3 Pts.
Purdue 1 TD
Penn St. 12 Pts.
Wisconsin 1 TD
Michigan 5 Pts.

And some of those teams really sucked. GREAT teams win by large margins.

But, as I stated in my previous comment, credit earned is credit due. A perfect season is nothing to sneeze at. And OSU played to the competition and ended each game with more points than their opponents. And that deserves due recognition. But ALL aspects of the game must be examined to draw rational conclusions.

My bitch is their creampuff schedule in 2013. If they REALLY are NC material they have to play tougher teams in the regular season. The big bully on the school playground could boast a perfect ass-kick record too when he fights kids half his size and only wins on points at the end of the match.

And, as I said, OSU would have given us a much better NC game than did ND. There is no doubt in my mind over that. Personally, I don't think they would've beaten the Tide. I think that competition would have been over their heads. But it would have been a much closer game.

So pull your head out, Libluvs. Think logically and rationally instead of just rooting on the fucking home team. That shit gets old after awhile. ;)
