Oncology - The Future

I am looking to get into Oncology from another specialty role. Is AZ Oncology a good place to start my oncology career? I would appreciate some advice.

I think most people here will tell you that its amazing AZ Oncology has survived the cuts as long as they have. Nothing against the reps at all...just the (lack of) products and access.

The fact that we have ANY reps in ONC is really strange. If it was dismantled tomorrow nobody would miss the division. Instead, AZ will hit the Crestor reps hard, the only real hope out there. But hey, AZ's poor decision making is what got us into this mess. The bad thing is that much worse is yet to come. Much worse.

Bring back Tamoxifen! And Scarlett Spring too - she was Hottttt!!!

There is no pipeline. We have been promised that we would acquire other products through purchase, licensing, co-marketing, etc. for more than 10 years. All this has produced was Abraxane, and AZ drove Abraxis to pull the plug on that as soon as they could.

There is only about 65 people left in Onc. They got too small to cut.

They’re not cutting in oncology. Oncology will either find life in another product thru co-marketing or purchase. If they can not sustain either of these options they will get rid of the whole division. Most are sticking around just because they have been with the company so long. Their job is so easy that it would be stupid to self id. They will wait until AZ pulls the rug out from under them and then they will all get the fat severance. Either way they are in the best spot.

Now they won't have Eric protecting them anymore. They need a Lelinski type to come in there and smile and be nice and then wipe them out

He was always so trusting. Too many people believed in his crap. Followed him like a lemming over the edge. Bottom line- always look out for yourself. Nobody at AZ will

Thanks for all of your feedback. I researched Faslodex and it looks like a unique product that is not going generic until 2021. I will continue to follow AZ Oncology and post if a vacancy occurs in my area.

You have not done your homework. Faslodex will not open doors for you. You will not get to know your customers with Fdex. You would be better off selling a product that is newer than this one. Don’t go by the patent expiration date. No money is being put into research for Fdex therefore you will be selling on the same indications for the next 10 years - that is if there is still a field force selling it.
