Oncology displacements

YOU PUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO THIS COMPANY? FOR 1O FRIGGIN YEARS?????

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

U DESERVE WHATEVER YOUR PROGRAMMED A S S HAS COMIN TO YOU. STRAIGHT UP. NO CHASER.

ha.

I care punk because I put all my heart and soul into this company. I have been drinking the cool aid for the last 10 years.

The best people put their heart and soul into their jobs. You know you are doing the best job you can, adapting to the market, and delivering what the company wants. Much more important is you can look at yourself in the mirror and know you did all you could to earn your paycheck, serve your customers, and take care of your family. This should give you some strength. But the reality is, you have no control over the outcome beyond what you have already done. There will always be uncertainty and you can't let it eat you alive nor can you make rash changes just in case something happens.

I, like you, gave everything and lots of years to my job and had great pride in what I accomplished. Guess what? The company no longer exists and neither does the entire department. I survived and found something new and you will too.

At least here there is a chance you'll be retained. There have to be cuts. There are just too many sales reps and that was true before access started shutting down. But there will always be a core of sales reps and the oncology and hematology divisions have more going for them than most other companies. If Novartis doesn't see your value or simply doesn't have a place for you in the future, as many incredibly talented people could be let go, you will land on your feet. Use your time now to pay off any debts you can and to add aggressively to an emergency fund. End 401K contributions and shift it into direct savings for the rest of the year. In this market, a two year savings fund is not too much. Update your resume and start creating a list of good recruiters. Reconnect with anyone you know who has moved to other jobs and other industries. Do the best job you can and reach out to your best customers for tips on who is hiring and get letters of recommendation now from customers, former bosses, and coworkers. Control what you can and give yourself some peace of mind. None of us know the future and all you can do is prepare and be proud of the job you do each day.

Hang in there.
