Oncology BU Merit increases

7 percent? Really? That’s about $14,000 per year at my salary. How in the hell am I supposed to live on that? Have they seen the price of eggs, meat, or what childcare costs? Other companies are giving double digit merit increases and GSK should follow suit. Bonuses here are a joke. Wish field management would better advocate for their people and be a voice for the future of this company.

You must be a weak performer, my RSD says 9.5% for me. Still not great, barely a cost of living increase. At least I can leverage my new base salary in negotiations with my next employer. Those who can leave will. All that will be left are long-term GSKers, the epitome of mediocrity.

The percentage increase is irrelevant. The problem is our base salaries are well under market and miles behind the good oncology biotechs. So 10% on a low base is meaningless.

my base is 206k but I do have 20 years of Onc experience. I think that is on par with other oncology companies. My merit increase was only 5% . That will bring my base to over 216. I’m happy with that given our workload.

Keep whining cause this time next year you’ll be in the bread line. Layoffs coming before you know it. Disney, 17,000 layoffs, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, all massive layoffs. Recession here folks, rising interest rates, unemployment, industry wide layoffs, all going on right now. Better go apply to selling weapon systems , the only growing segment right now.

That would have been ‘on par’ seven or so years ago. Not to mention the lack of equity and weak bonus structure at GSK You are way underpaid for 20 years of Onc experience…sounds like you don’t like working so perhaps that is good for you.

Not to stir the pot, but the average salary for a field oncology manager is 280k (270-310 range) and no manager received less than a 6.75% increase. The largest % increase for filed managers was 9%. Directors (377k-410k). Wish I could share my screen. I’ve been in meetings with these people and can not for the life of me figure out why they are deserving of this comp. Yes, I am angry and do not plan to stay here long. Any other HR requests, just ask. I’ll tell all before I am out of here.

Any word on what the raises will be for non field employees this year? Surprisingly, the bonus multipliers were solid, but that’s probably the lame dame’s attempt at repairing a portion of the damage she’s done to our pathetic stock price.

AZN stock at 5-year high right now, GSK down 30% from 5-year high. The Dame is dumb.

So I work in medical devices. A real sales job. And let me just say, you sound like a whiney, entitled little loser brat. I haven’t received a merit increase in years because I work harder and make more in commission. I bet you haven’t worked a hard day in the past five years

You are right - I haven’t worked a hard day in a decade. Still making $325,000 ( probably more than you). If this “temporary” inflation continues much longer(2 years now), I’ll have to demand more just to buy eggs
