This summer ought to be interesting. By october, sales force will look very different and internal as well. Cost reductions are a must and its coming soon. Real issues are the pipeline is good, but dealing with the FDA- you never know. The Payer also will not pay full price for these products. Govt and GPO's want cheaper meds. ThAT GAP FROM NOW TO 2014? You can stay the same sales force size and bet on the future, you never know what will happened? Things have to change. Its all about the money.
Nobody can gurantee our futures. It can go either way? Smart money says that Lilly Oncology sales force will get smaller, Jim's job will not be backfilled, Payer project will be positive and there will be a need for GPO reps, and CP will be working in another function. We don't need the headcount and never will. The Oncology Business is changing and we need to change with it. Bad mktg department, too many bad DM's, intitled reps, expensive meds, generics, Pathways, bad economy, Democratic Govt, and health care reform and engagement is done. People fear for their jobs and they realize the pharma jobs futures are not good. Also career advancement will be minimal. And yes the comp plan is wonderful- What a joke!!! Callibration!!!! Hahahahaha THis is all coming to a head soon. And paramount will not move the needle and making plan we will see???
