Inept leadership, piss poor training, disregarded processes, clueless HR, unqualified people in key positions. It's a joke. Where to start? Probably just before the "lean transformation" 7ish years ago? Supposedly to "take the lead" in a new way of thinking for manufacturing. Actually, a couple of years later it was revealed that OKC was about to be closed and actually "lean" was a sink or swim endeavor. Kudos for the effort. Problem is they left out the key element for a smooth 'transformation" which is "total employee involvement", they basically told everyone that your input will be considered but this is how we are going to do it. Like it or leave it. Just a bunch of pompous jackasses. The idea is to eliminate waste but what it actually does is make less people do more. Which in turn = cutting corners = a decline in quality and stressing out employees. Precisely why many companies abandon it over time. In essence it's a failure.
You try to express your disdain to the HR lady JoAnn and she'll tell you want you want to hear but never does anything about it, of course to cater to management. When she had her meeting for the Compass rollout a while back someone said something critical and her response was "if you don't like working here, you can always find work somewhere else." Classy.
They are having little six person "round table discussions" with Joe and JoAnn to try to get input from everyone, but you can tell it's only because they were told to do something from higher up and are required to. Kinda desperate. They think giving giving away movie tickets and pizza parties is the answer. Clueless. It's nothing but excuses when it comes to pay, overworked employees, leaders not taking priority in fixing problems that directly affect production and profits, blowing off employees when bringing those issues to light. All you hear is "it is what it is" or "there's not enough hours in the day". Worse yet, they will tell you that they will look into a problem and month goes by and nothing. You bring it up again a month later and then still nothing. 6 months later it finally causes several problems upstream and all of a sudden all their energy is tied up fixing a problem that should have been dealt with 9 months previously. It's just a shithole with pompous leadership that could care less about their employees.
Like the survey from 4-5 years ago where the concern was that 31% of SN employees would NOT recommend it to their friends as a potential employer caught some attention, it's good that this most recent survey exposes that the OKC facility has MAJOR issues. However, nobody that works there expects anything to really be done about it. It's ran by a bunch of amateurs from Joe to JoAnn to Troy to Michael to Curtis to Jeff to Paula. It's unfortunate because they have a quality employee base that they basically treat like shit.
