B&L doesn't have a clue about how to successfully launch a product. Intimidation of the sales force just won't get it.
 






Does anyone have a clear picture of how we will get paid for Prolensa? Bromday will be written through June at least. So the company will just add that money to their pot and not pay us on it. Great move...keep the money your reps hqve earned.

We went out there pushed and pushed but somehow the suspension is getting traction like never before. The pharmacies are switching even after you have been there to stock. Best part, wait, that because a majority of us like me did not hit my numbers for Gel- (Incidentally my suspension was 147%)I can play catch up! Oh i am so excited to play catchup for my money, which will be paid out next year. Funny- if the Prolensa launch stalls, we all can be cut again and now no one will get their money. But I AM VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE A JOB! (thats what I keep saying.)

That's exactly how low the standard has become; not how much greater can I be or howuch more can I earn........I'm just happy to have a job-pathetic; kind of like how we are not bitching about near 4 dollar gallon for gas, or, what a pathetic prez we have; when the standard is made that low, the only ones that win are the losers at the top. No one is being held àccountable

It was so much better at Ista, even the reps that came over from the OD side say that was better. They had attainable goals and actually made money. Most are miserable now and I don't blame them.

It was only a year or two ago that I remembering being inspired to go out and move business. As I moved business my bonus grew as well. Funny, I was thinking about how the Pfizer reps had it so good for so long, they had one product and had consistency. CONSISTENCY, a term that would never pass my lips here! Lets see, I sold the vitamins, dropped off BioTrue, launched the Ointment, Zirgan, oh and Beisvance, Prolensa, Gel, gee I really miss those wonderfully nice pediatricians. When has the salesforce had consistency in their product representation to the accounts? My feelings, for what they are worth, is that B&L is in that survival stage. It is fighting to show investors that the task at hand can be done. Unfortunately, the salesforce is well, collateral. We are the component that could either make or ultimately break B&L. Its sad to hear reps say I am happy to have a job. There is SO MUCH talent in our salesforce. Majority are good, compliant reps, who love their clients, enjoy their offices visits and moving business. But under these conditions of coercion, in my case thanks a untrustworthy manager, those days of enjoying the art of being a salesman is sadly over. Its best to be a prepared Boy Scout and or Girl Scout, have your resumes updated and circulating. Signed- I am happy to have a job too.

If the company is not meeting its objectives, then the sales force should not be making bonus. If you can not hit your quota, maybe we should hire some one who can. Now shutup and serve a lunch.

NO! We are SALES people we work for bonus and commissions. And when you jack up quotas so high, so unattainable and do the math folks, you cannot reach it you are indirectly telling us in order to reach these quotas you need to get business off label! This company turns around after the market fails , the MARKET and then readjusts our goals over and over making us feel we should bend over and kiss their asses for doing so?! So get it right the FIRST time and save us all the headache! We get paid salaries for doing our jobs, programs at night, webinars, drive time, fly time, 100 reports, 100 plus emails a week, conf calls, meetings and putting up shit from docs. So we work for our salaries believe me BUT we should be goaled appropriately otherwise we wouldn't be in sales!

So very true! Sales people work for their bonuses and their salary! Well said but this company is a joke on the pharma side. Thats why they are failing miserably!!
 






pharma people are no longer sales people. At B&L you are not paid a commission, you are paid a bonus. A bonus is a corporate pay out based on objectives. A sales person earns a commission on a sale. If you think you are a real sales person, go sell something and collect a check at the conclusion of the conversation. That's sales. what pharma is now and has been for decades is Marketing.

Rx sales is an easy decent paying gig. you're marketing eye drops. You are easily replaced by entry level sales people that want to get out of high attrition sales jobs like B2B payroll and copier sales. If you think you are worth more as a real salesperson. Leave, and go sell something. B&L is a joke. Reps at B&L are considered a joke now. Will be very difficult to get that stain off your resume if you want to stay in ophthalmics. My recruiter knows I won't hire any B&L reps that have a start date after 2008. All the real talent left before then. You're all replacements. sorry, but that's the truth. get out of there.

I am an ex-Pfizer rep. You really hit the nail on the head. We didn't know how good we had it. We are all now really feeling the pain. I am now at Merck. It's horrible.
I'm pulling for you guys. I have always loved the B&L reps. Best of luck.
