I think Pete A has the right vision for sure. The issue is he still has not freed up Sr. Management to make the the changes needed to scale up. We keep getting told we are fixing the problem(s) but then I hear, well, we don't have enough money to fix that issue the way it should be fixed. But what we can afford is a band-aid for the problem, continue to beat up the reps and tell them that they are the problem and that the band aid is enough. So to me different talk, same result, for now. Recon just just spent a ton of dough on a consultant to tell them what the field already has and knew, yet they haven't done anything with the information and apparently, aren't willing to invest in making those recommended changes.
Yesterday Pete said as we grow we cant have 1:1 infrastructure growth. We have to scale up to meet the growth but at a slower pace, read: do more with less. Work more than you are now. Pete, there is still a culture of clock punchers. People are burnt and are just going through the motions. Staff up. Give the Presidents more money for internal support and figure out how to get people motivated not because of fear of losing their jobs, but because they have pride in their jobs. That's what I think.
Now, you managers and bug squashers, bring on my beating for being so ungrateful I have a job, even if I would like to make it better.
