OIG goes after PLUS?

Given the numerous breaches that this company has had in it's short history, is there any truth that the OIG is now actively investigating them for potential Medicare fraud?

Last year, the OIG announced publically that it was investigating the entire laboratory industry, focusing on business models. PLUS is certainly a laboratory that may be under scrutiny and possible investigation. Does anyone have specifics on this scummy little lab?

OIG is going after the Path Solutions boyz not PLUS.

All labs are eventually going to be investigated according to the public comments made last year by one of the Asst. OIG/DOJ attorneys.

Lab Economics reported that an armed team of OIG/FBI investigators raided a path lab in California and took away the computers and other assorted documents. A week later they returned it all, stating that they had made a mistake. There was another OIG lawsuit from the OIG aimed at Abbott and multiple labs that turned out to be another mistake. It looks like the OIG shoots first and asks questions later. Maybe the government is overstepping its boundaries. Given how PLUS conducts business, it's probably in the crosshairs of the OIG this very minute. We won't have to wait very long. Save this post so that I can say "I told you so."

When / if OIG looks into PLUS it will be easy to see by billing trends the abuses. Insurance companies have known this for a couple of years know, which is why many no longer pay in split bill arrangements.

too small of a company to be investigated.
they are billing just like all of the other small labs out there.
drs are the ones pushing the split billing everywhere now a days, if they cant do a lab deal time to account bill, it has been going on for years in clinical
keep looking

You can't say you told us so when the sun comes up every morning. It will happen soon. Anyone with direct info can get 15-30% of the settlement. A small lab like ours could pay 30m in damages at the end of a 4 year investigation.

PLUS X Negative = Negative

Ignornat post. No lab is too small. The OIG has publically stated that they are targeting the entire industry. The split billing models are problematic in their execution in some instances (not all models are created equally), and the ones from PLUS should be examined VERY closely. Didn't this group sell EMRs illegally in NY? If so, then their compliance problems arde obvious. Don't think that the OIG isn't interested.

Yes, PLUS broke the law in NY and offered some other marginal models (at least one is documented by the OIG). Run away from this sinkhole of a company as quickly as possible. What do you expect from a company run by arrogant asshole pricks from the financial world? What do you expect from a shitty little lab formed initially by a racist group of Pakistani pathologists with marginal training?
