Seriously, unless you and your family are hungry, keep lookingif you need a job then sure take it, if you have other opportunities elsewhere I would stay away from Shire. Most are looking that are here and just waiting for the right opportunity.
Congats! Just stay away from NBU! NBU is being spun off and dismantled!Offered a position in hematology but reading lots of negative stuff here ...is it really that bad ?

A lot depends on you manager, but you can’t escape the corporate reach.
Read Glassdoor reviews and Yahoo Finance conversations before joining.
That way you know what you are in for. It won’t last forever given the horrible stock performance, but it has lasted much longer than any of us thought!
Before joining, talk to the HR recruiter and tell them that you've heard about an email from "Big Ben" and ask what it is and if you could get a copy. See how they react and observe what Shire thinks of its people.
Ok... so I reached out to this "Ben" on LinkedIn based off the info on cafepharma. I thought he would be wearing a mask and a cape in his profile pic. Lol. I explained i was interviewing with Shire and asked for feedback. So anyways he replies back simply stating he had a great 10 years at Shire and that he doesn't work there anymore so he would not be the best individual to get information about the company on???? Ok...
