offer from Dendreon

from Motley Fool:

"Now what: Of the factors limiting growth during the quarter, the company's concern over having sales reps jump ship seemed particularly significant. Motley Fool biotech expert Brian Orelli was skeptical of whether this really would have decreased sales. He wrote, "Are doctors so uninterested in Provenge that if the sales rep isn't in their office on a regular basis, they forget about prescribing it?"

Further, if Provenge and Dendreon more broadly were charging ahead and offering a good opportunity for sales reps, would we be seeing this turnover? I'd assume not. Investors should consider whether this turnover further underscores the troubles Provenge has had getting the kind of traction that was originally expected."

The Dendreon Cafepharma board is not a place to get any career advice from. Almost none of the posters here actually work for the company. Most posters here are stock traders that are trying to damage the company as much as possible by spreading false information about the company so they can benefit from any stock declines.

I'm thinking about the offer but someone said there were actual police at the Annual Shareholders meeting. Is it normal to have police at an ASM? I know that my former jobs never had police at ASM. I am female and I find that to be scary. Did Dendreon ask for police to be there and why would they want police there?

Yes there was police present at the ASM. The police were there to protect shareholders from some of the mentally people that post on this Cafepharma board. Given these posters may become violent at any time, police were brought in to protect all attending. These posters will stop at nothing in order to damage Dendreon at its shareholders.

Dendreon is a completely safe place to work. The mentally ill people that post here would never be allowed on or near Dendreon property.

God you're a paranoid freak. If you think what happens on this board actually influences share price or damages the company ( the former admin were adept at that all by themselves) then you're completely delusional. Maybe you should go see your psychiatrist 'friend' (snicker)

You're insane. Get help.

Why are people mad at shareholders? I read a story that said something about the shareholders at the meeting holding the board of directors accountable about something. I didnt read much of the story but this all sounds very strange and your answer makes it even more questionable. I don't understand why people would be mad at shareholders. I thought the shareholders at the ASM were mad about something.

To post number 11. My husband just came home and showed me the story detailing the ASM- it was shareholders mad at the company. You just told me a lie. If you represent the company you just steered me away. Even if you do not represent the company my husband senses that you are covering up for something bad. I'm going to accept another offer for less money. This is the story my husband showed me that shows you lied. You did us a service by making my decision easier.

"Dendreon didn’t allow recorders or cameras inside this meeting, and didn’t webcast the proceedings. What follows are some of the comments from shareholders that I jotted down with old-fashioned pen and paper.

—Brad Loncar, a shareholder activist from Lenexa, KS whose family has about 1,000 shares, started by welcoming Johnson to the company and expressing gratitude having him at the helm. But he criticized the board for failing in its job to watch out for shareholder interests.

“It’s unacceptable and very disappointing the way the board failed to exercise independent leadership over management,” Loncar said. He added: “A lot of good people were hurt while the management team walked away with an embarrassment of riches. This product deserves better.”

—Charlie Heffernan, a broker with Yates Wood & McDonald property management in Seattle, expressed his disgust with the management team. He said he owns about 10,000 shares of Dendreon, and has been a stockholder in the company for about eight years, partly because he believed in its “breakthrough science” and felt the need to support innovative companies in his hometown of Seattle.

He directed his anger at the board. “You have put the company at risk,” Heffernan said. “You all ought to be fired for cause.”

When asked afterward whether he was satisfied with any of the answers he heard from the company, Heffernan said no. “Just a bunch of chickenshit,” he said.

—Rob Walker, who described himself as a prostate cancer survivor and long-term shareholder who currently has 110,000 shares, started with some diplomatic comments about how he understands the value of the product. But he vented his frustration when he had his turn at the microphone.

“I wish I was as good at selling stock as some of the executives at the firm,” Walker said."

The police were there to enforce having no recording devices. A very unusual action by a company run by criminals.

This is rather stupid, BP is all about sales forces.

Even dumber here.

There are lots of infusion sites that have had zero or one patient. Most doctors have never written a Provenge script. They have questions, phone calls don't get returned. Product doesn't sell.

But, indeed, it won't get better, not because it doesn't matter, but because it's not getting better.

chicken, meet egg. the reps left because the sales were down and they moved on to something else. the reps that stayed were , duh , in a productive territory. gee, and I'm not even a CEO. odd, he didn't increase sales at savient, how on earth did our board of director get the idea he was the guy for the job.
