As a candidate for president, Barack Obama sold his signature universal health care plan with the promise that it would "cut the cost of a typical family's premium by up to $2,500 a year."

Now that the Affordable Care Act exchanges are open for business, voters are finding that the biggest problem with Obamacare isn't that some Web sites crashed last week but that the Obama promise of big savings for the average family was too good to be true.

Now that the exchanges are open for business, people who already have individual coverage have something new to not like: sticker shock. The Affordable Care Act isn't affordable after all.

I've got now for you fucking moron - the law wasn't supposed to and no one except those like you who are trying to set up a straw man argument has ever claimed it would "reduce it by $2500 for everyone". Like in MA it is designed to have very little effect on those who have current health care insurance.

This is an unverified (mostly when they are they are found to be a fraud) and anecdotal at best. Just look as MA. But that state is a reactionary's, racists, Tea Buggers(ed) nightmare. Better healthcare with costs rising half of the nation's average, better schools etc, etc.

As opposed to the 3rd world nations of most of the State of the South.

First, the link isn't to a document where he is describing what we now call Obama Care. What was in-acted in 2010 was much different from what he and Hillary were proposing in 2008. That is what the link is to.

Between 2008 and 2010 there was many changes. For example, much of the savings were taken out after negotiations with your employer's industry lobbyists. The trade off left more profits with Pharma at the expense of patients. That is the political process.

Those negotiations with your employer's lobbyist's by the way, hung you out to dry. Pharma gets new markets and needs ever fewer sales reps and marketers!

I am on vacation with my wife. Dictating most of this onto my iPad after spending a very relaxing and sexy weekend with her.

I get just as excited watching these Tea Buggers(ed) squirm.
