Obama Care: Lower premiums in CO-OP states

What are the specific deductibles of these plans though?

THe deductibles of ALL Health Insurances are now uniform across the US by law so depending on if they are "Platinum", 'Gold", "Silver" etc sets the level of % costs covered and deductibles.

That is one of the geniuses of Obama Care. Because benefits are standardized all policies must compete on price alone allowing a true apples to apples comparison on all the exchanges. When this study was conducted they compared, for example, Platinum CO-OP plan to Platinum non CO-Op Plans to get this 8% difference.

This competition will now force the insurance companies who sell groups rates to employers to lower their prices as how do you explain to a company that they pay higher rates on they plans that they buy for their employees than those on that states exchanges.

Remember, all the competition part of Obama Care, forced by the individual mandate, was all a part of Romney Care which was again, a GOP idea from the 90's. The latest crazy talk shit regarding Obama Care is really based on hatred for Obama not ration opposition to the policy. What they claim will happen has not happened in MA where Romney Care has been in place for 8 years. There it has bent the cost curve significantly and is very popular.

"States with new member-owned CO-OP health plans as part of Obamacare have premiums that are more than 8 percent lower than states that don’t, a new study shows."

So let me get this straight, all of us who already have insurance won't be effected but those who dont now have insurance so that they have NO choice will be given SOME choice.

Got a question for you. Which would you rather have, no choice on some?

We can wait to see how the people who buy these plans vote right?

hahahahahaha
