spoke with the recuiter yesterday who sent me this email. looks like there's an opening at your company. she didn't know why the last indiv left. I come from pharma, don't know much about lab. can anyone share what happened to the director that vacated this position? internal/external move?

We are conducting a search for a Director of Managed Care Contracting for a major diagnostic laboratory. The position will be based in New York or New Jersey. They are offering a very competitive compensation and benefit package. If you know of someone that may have an interest please have them contact me for details.

Ask your self this? Do people leave a career they've built when they are happy? Do people leave a job they love doing? What do you think are some of the reasons this position is open???

ask your self this... can I work with Brenda H, one of the stupidest people ever to walk the face of the earth. Can you work for someone who will demand you work the genzyme leakage list only to have the parent company buy genzyme because it was impossible to fix. Can you work for someone as clueless as B Hendron, the definition of dumba..

ask yourself this ... if Brenda spent less time trying to outsmart everyone with powerpoints and spreadsheets, would we be in a better position to compete?

i thought enrie was the managed care guy.

Are you sure this person left? This sounds like a confidential search since they left the name of the company off. Also, why did they ask you if you knew of anyone, and not if you were interested? Not sure if these two points are relevant, but I've been the target of many of these emails and this seems a little odd.

original poster here. I think they inquired as to whether or not I knew someone because I'm from an outside industry (pharm) and maybe I'm not perceived to be a serious candidate since I'm not in lab. I am looking to move out of pharm and am trying to understand if that's an easy transition. I spoke to the recruiter (whom I've dealt with in the past) and she confirmed it was labcorp.

I'm wondering if, based on some of the previous comments, the current director is still in place and is unaware they are on their way out? she did say there was some new senior leadership in the nj makret that was looking to make changes.

any commentary on the success/background of the person currently in that role?

Hold on, hold on....The first question that needs to be asked is who made the power points for her that she is presenting?????

Interview set for next week. We're meeting not at labcorp, but at a neutral site. Should I be curious as to why? Wonder why we're not meeting at the lab? Both will be there. I have some questions.

Which is what exactly? Let's take a history check here . How many GG RAD's have left since they reported to Brenda vs Jerry? 2, 3 or are we up to 4?

is it about brenda? or is it about what history suggests for every other great company purchased by labcorp? don't you think the rad's saw they were about to take paycuts, lose bene's, get nickel and dimed, micromanaged? anyone that was worth their weight hit the trail ...didn't a few rad's reunite with jerry anyway?

Not meeting at Labcorp? I’d be very suspicious and afraid. Do NOT go if this neutral place is at a forest reserve, or a motel room off the Interstate.

Geez, I hope your questions get better from here.

Trying to complete reporting control of the mc dept away from Corp and back to regional levels. Looking like a June 1 probability. Then the pruning can get started to rid the NE of more than a few stay at homes and their clueless leader who have been around just a bit too long.
