Interesting that companies across the US are canceling large group meetings, but no mention of anything here. They are pulling all of the managers in next week and then all of us at our national sales meeting in 2 weeks.

Biogen just wrapped a meeting and 3 people from the meeting have been diagnosed with Coronavirus. Everyone has to work from home for the next two weeks and all travel is restricted through March.

I want to go to launch but as I see other big companies cancelling their annual meetings, it’s kind of freaking me out.

Its basically the flu you little snowflake! They don't cancel meeting for the flu. Unless your 80 or have major health issues, you'll be fine. Grow a pair!

The concern isn’t necessarily that meeting attendees will become infected. The issue is that those infected will likely spread the virus, unknowingly. It’s about preventing the spread. You contract the virus at the meeting and then fly home and spread it to your family (and likely others in your community). Educate yourself.

Otuska and other companies cancelled their meetings and our company is holding two meetings in the next 3 weeks. Other than one email from HR, the company hasn't even addressed it.

Maybe you should check your facts. Did you watch the press conference held by the chief of health and human services in Boston today? It was addressing the outbreak and the connection to the Biogen meeting. So far, 5 people have tested positive...3 from Boston, 1 from Tennessee and 1 from Indiana. So no, not just their home office.

There are medications to treat the flu, as well as many people are vaccinated. It’s not about being fearful and freaking out, but it is about preventing the spread of a virus that we are currently unable to control. The only expectation is to act responsibly.
