Now PFE has poisoned the RSV well

First you shoved the COVID vax down the world’s throat by being the partner for BioNTech. Your agressive marketing and golden parachute of no liability has poisoned the well of every vaccine that will be released
Going forward. Now RSV (which is deadly) is running rampant and there are several effective vaccines. Many patients are not getting vaccinated due to PFE having a vaccine for it and promoting it. PFE’s name in everyday households was once respected,
Now it’s hated.

There's an article in Barron's that AB is betting all his PFE stock he can pull this company out of this slump. What do you think?
I think he is better at blaming Angela, sales and marketing than he is at picking stock. I wouldn’t hire him as my advisor, and I certainly don’t understand why the board keeps him

The OP is on to something. 25 years ago PFE had at least 9 billion dollar products, a sales force that truly was the envy of the industry, and a name that really meant quality products. Fast forward to today: a name that is only associated with partnership for marketing and scorn. Too many cases of short term thinking without consequences. A once great name now an embarrassment.

I was a Roerig Rep at that time and it was fun. But the reality was, we weren't any good. We just had the best product to pull out of the bag at any time. We didn't develop any of them. We took over other innovative companies and sold their pills.

Imagine strutting up to the receptionist to get back and I had samples of Norvasc, Lipitor, Z-packs, Viagra, etc. Of course I got in when others didn't. What did they have? Augmentin or Isoptin?

Over time, it caused us to believe we were great when in fact, we were lucky. Keep in mind this is before PHARMA rules and I could expense just about everything. I played a lot of golf, took a lot of key customers out to dinner, etc.

When our products dried up, my so called friends in the industry vanished.

Now I am left with selling BMY's products because they can't do a decent job.

We were never any good. We just had the best products. I miss those days.

You were never the envy of the industry. You were pitied.

We had a sales force that was the envy only because of our size and the way we threw around money to KOLs, high prescribers and the like. Lets not get it twisted: Having Lipitor, Zithromax, Viagra, Celebrex or Zoloft in our bag + a cluster of other reps selling identical meds to the same doctors made for a very easy life if you were in the field in those days. Once those blockbusters matured or lost patents, we got exposed for who we really are. Our stock value and the number of CEOs we've had since 2002 or so proves me right.
I agree with your other points, however. We are indeed an embarrassment.
