Novo Nordisk Lay-off Plan Will Show If It Is Still a Fortune Magazine Top 100 Best Places To Work

In a world where many pharma companies are protecting their field employees by keeping them home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Novo sends reps into the field and 2 months later announces layoffs. If Novo truly is a Fortune 100 best place to work then their behaviors will need to change. The best way for Novo to be a great company during these trying times is to take care of its people during the layoffs. Great companies will offer severance or early retirement packages so that they can maintain a semblance of caring for its employees. The benefits of such an offer are limitless as disgruntled employees leave and retained employees are motivated by NNI’s thoughtful consideration of its people. In addition, Novo’s position with its’ customers and stakeholders will be enriched. In essence, a severance /early retirement offer would validate Novo Nordisk’s “Triple Bottom Line”. Please Novo, do the right thing!

I think you have your answer right there. Novo sent reps back out in the field (which, btw, was fine with me)...then cut bonuses because of these unprecedented times, then went metric-crazy, and THEN announced the layoffs that they had planned for months.

The only way that is a 100 Best Places to work is if there are 100 employers total.

And dagger to the heart is... Our baselines for this current quarter in relation to our extravagant goals are based off of the gains in poa 2 that were not worthy of paying us out on, and that many will never see a dime from. Not to mention robbing us that worked in poa 1 through march end and only paying 100% and not counting those that were 125% -150% exc.

excellent observation. Cafepharma seems to think the Executive team is pretty incompetent....well, they seemed to have screwed us all 6 ways from Sunday and left no stone unturned in finding every single way they could to not let one extra penny walk out the door with exiting employees.

100 Best Places to work is the biggest bullshit out there. It based on stupid metrics such as maternity time off , flex time- like now, and percentage of women to field force etc and other stupid bullshit. it will not take in to account the layoffs and they dont need to worry about maternity time because there will be layoffs.
complete bullshit and this stunt is not included in the data. So 2 years from now they will have the best place to work bs but there will be 50% less employees

Great points on all fronts. Let's also not forget that they forced us to take all our vacation time by the beginning of August so we could work really hard later. Now we've been screwed out of vacation pay if we get laid off and the poor souls still left won't have any vacation as they try to work full time and home school their kids too or you can take unpaid time off. Hiring a nanny now and they stole my bonus. Nothing great about this company any more.....very sad to watch our downfall.

You all have it so rough.... what’s interesting to me is you all know the best route for NNI, as long as it serves your best interest that is

Smart people formulate a backup plan. That serves your best interest too.....
