Novartis won't give a chance to candidates that were previously employed here

It's interesting to find out that previous employees from Novartis won't even get a stab at interviewing.

Back when the big layoffs occurred we were told that if you were laid off you still had a fair chance to return (which the severance package advised you would be eligible to come back in 2 years)

Fast forward to today, letters have already been received that managers and reps that did very well in their tenure aren't even going to get an interview. How does this stuff happen. Why even offer it as an opportunity to these guys that they lay off.

I think the current leadership team are cherry picking people they want that are carbon copies of themselves. What ever happened to diversity and inclusion.

Very disappointing.

I also know someone who interviewed in the West, but pulled out. In this case, the manager tried to recruit this person back to Novartis. I think this person was smart to stay away!

the real question is this. why in the hell would anyone want to return to Novartis after getting out???????? Unless you have had way too much to drink and are just completely delusional and an idiot.

First of all anybody that worked at Novartis knows hand A does not talk to hand B in their business model. All this company does , is buy companies, merge companies and destroy successful companies . Why would you ever want to go back to this shithole company.Alcon use to be successful now they are selling off their contact division. Oh and let's not talk about the stock. Apply to other companies

a manager was just rehired in the south just because another manager demanded they come back.....and yes, it was a bad decision. Reps, the new managers that were brought in last year are hiring their former reps from their previous company! One big happy family.

A Cosentyx rep in Indy--rheum side just got hired. She had been with Novartis for 8 years, left for GSK, then came back to Novartis. They happily took her back and paid her more and gave her the tenure.

That's totally different than a former Novartis rep that was a victim of downsizing.....Not many, if any have been given a look to return as was stated upon separation. If you were shown the door, you are meant to go through it and never return. See ya!

Not necessarily. Depends on who you know.... A novel premise and big secret....
I was severed and had two managers call to rehire me.
I thanked them but declined, as I was ecstatic to get out of this shit show. Once out, stay out and move on.

Not so fast my friend.....a manager request is always trumped by HR. I know of several people in the same scenario that you have stated, only to have the rug pulled out from under them by the wild card...a novel premise and bigger secret.....Human Resource. Maybe you would have had the offer; who knows for sure. But the overwhelming premise seems clear....they don't want retreads. See the door?? Use it, one way, OUT!
