Good: Can't think of too much good these days. One thing I noticed from 6 yrs that still holds true today is that Novartis is not nearly as intense as Pfizer, Merck, Lilly or other big-pharma. The training is less severe (or, at least it was before the Corporate Integrity Agreement) and the sales atmosphere seems a bit more relaxed.
Bad: Not much left in the way of a corporate culture left in primary care sales where most personnel cuts have been made to date. It's a bit different in specialty, but still...the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in East Hanover and Novartis has made several errors attempting to bring drugs to market all across the board. Our much ballyhoo'd pipeline will be bone dry for next 2 to 3 yrs in general meds and specialty, and Novartis is in major job cut mode these days...and, as the saying goes, a growing business does not "cut" its way to prosperity... Also, Novartis erred cutting too many manufacturing jobs and barely can keep up with demand for existing medicines, let alone produce enough medications to sample offices.
I would take a real good look and the vaccines you would be promoting, their reputation, their manufacturing history (shortages ?) and their patent life. Not much good news has come our way these days...
Hope that helps...
