Novartis to lay off again!

I don't get it. How are all these companies trimming sales forces yet we cannot continue to fill open positions fast enough? Novartis just announced they will completely layoff, as in 100 percent, their entire primary care sales force. Even their elite sales force, the MS franchise, will be going through cuts. Why are we not doing it? How long can this last?

Don't worry, our time is coming. It's not going to be pretty.

Nope, Frenchie the Shit believes in SOV like it came from God's mouth! We are bullet proof! They fill every damn vacancy as fast as they can! We are so covered up with reps that we are a total joke! PLEASE PFIZER OR ROCHE…BUY US AND SET US FREE!

Novartis has nothing to sell...nothing...with a new Bydureon pen coming down the pike and the SGL2s taking over, you really don't think there is at least a few years of life left in the diabetes division?

Funny thing about MS. Most people think Onc Reps make the most? Nope! MS reps at Biogen, Novartis, Genzyme, Teva make the most. Bases of 125k on average and bonus of 50-100k.

For every top specialty rep position open there has to be at least 30 reps who could fill the bill...and those specialty reps have a few more years on the gravy train before things head south.

But those cuts are mostly in R&D. Add just another crippled pharma company to the list of those that will never have another new product that isn't already somewhere in the pipeline. Short term profits will look great with no R&D expenses though!! Emphasis on the short term is what is destroying companies.
