We are also spending a lot of time looking at the risks that the company will face in certain parts of the world, particularly in Europe, and we are now planning risk-mitigation strategies against that, all the way from changing some of the incentives for our people in the country where there are significant debt issues and where the risk of not collecting cash for sales is higher--we're incentivizing those people to collect the cash, not just generate the sales, and put receivables on the company's balance sheet.
"One would have been wanting to do that anyway even if there wasn't currency volatility, but the current situation has given us added incentive, because the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry overall hasn't been aggressive enough on costs as some industries have. Now is a perfect time for this to be pursued," said Jimenez, a former H.J. Heinz Co. (HNZ) manager.
