This industry is dead. The next couple of
Months are whatever. Then come the severances
Benefits and oh yeah, over time pay lol ;-)

In general, I've enjoyed working here. Sure
Their are some total douches but you'll find
People like that anywhere. We'll all land on
Our feet. Enjoy the time off!!

Expect the time off to be longer than you think.

Novartis does rock. What company gives 20 week severance packages with a year of medical, gives you $2,500.00 on top of that just to shine up your resume, and honors all tuition reimbursement past your official termination date? They are required to do none of this yet chose to do it anyways. Sure, we can say it is because they are trying to avoid lawsuits, but they could have been just effective by giving a months severance......something most companies don't even do.

This is a very necessary adjustment to the industry, multiple reps were needed to compete in the market in the last decade, and the effectiveness of that model has come to a very obvious end.

If you have been in the field doing your job you noticed that our effectiveness has been severely reduced over the last 7 years. Too many reps amongst all of the companies, and doctors need to see more patients. For those of you who think you a rockstar because doctors like you more than they like other reps, you are nothing special and completely replaceable.

Honestly people, if you didn't start putting a plan in place after the customer centric layoffs three years ago, you have been kidding yourself that you have a future with this company or any other pharma company. If you didn't save, reduce your overhead, and change your career skill set (by the way, this "awful company" would have put you through enough education to have another, more profitable degree if you had the intelligence to take advantage of the 30K in tuition they would have just handed over to you) you have had your head in the sand.

Good luck in the real world.....I have only been in pharma six years, and I promise you you will never again find a company that throws money around the way this one does, freely gives out compounding annual raises just for checking the boxes, pays for so many things that in every other occupation comes directly from your personal bottom line, and gives this kind of flexibility. If you go back to school for many years and develop a legitimate skill starting today......you might find a job with this kind of perks and pay once again sometime around 2020.

Quit complaining and realize you had it good for no other reason than decent presentation skills and a stroke of luck.......for way too long.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE BABY
