Novartis CV management: Can you please..

Stop with this new wave of micromanagement. No amount of spreadsheets, top 10 lists, or hyper frequency is going to make Entresto perform the way that you want it. Times have changed, along with the medical landscape. Access is much more difficult, and managed care rules the world in pharma now more than ever. Branded drugs don't reach blockbuster status anymore. Creating an atmosphere of fear and distrust is no way to build a "corporate culture" that is positive and conducive to growth. People are disgusted, angry, and simply burned out. Attrition will start, and management will wonder why. Not that they care anyway.

Been here longer then I care to admit and I've about had it. Tired of being treated like a first grader that doesn't know what they are doing. The ABL that you are paying to sit in my car, every month, knows nothing about the market and is so scared to do anything but check a box. There is absolutely no value on these ride alongs and it's actually slowing me down. I'm trying to do what's right for the business but all management wants is to look good on a spreadsheet. Having a bunch of people checking boxes isn't going to sell this drug. Our sales model needs to get out of the 1990's. I've given suggestions but has fallen on deaf ears. BTW, I'm performing well but the micromanagement and stress push me to just walk away

Welcome to the world of Alisha LAMEO. She did this in the NSBU PIP's everywhere more ride alongs and spreadsheet up the ass. Hang on she will either be fired or promoted. She has no talent she must of slept with somebody to keep getting promoted. Ask the NSBU reps how she was to bad none are left. She will act all positive at meetings and Christmas videos but behind the scenes she is blaming the reps.

I am not surprised about hearing any of this. Yeah lets do top 10 potential and top 10 writers and 5 tier 1 doctors we can get to a program lol what a joke and the new sales model surrond sound and the ride along reports with ABL's to just check a box what a joke its not the place to right now we all have experience and know our doctors so relax and let us do our job please bog turnover is coming soon either at Novartis or the PDI contract people!

Yes, a complete waste of time. We spend more time addressing extraneous, check the box details so that our ABL, aka babysitter can serve as another overpaid secretary to the RD. It's a joke and rarely is any value added during a work with other than the focus on meeting kpi"s and other meaningless metrics. I'd love to see one of our leaders come into the market and sell something. Give us all a break

Alisha will tell you how she could sell anything. The one thing I can say is this woman is so full of shit. Do not believe anything she says all lies. She destroyed the NSBU and looks like she pulled out the same playbook. PIP's are coming mark my word.

So this is how Novartis motivates people? Sorry management. No amount of field rides, spreadsheets, action plans, or sales messages are going to get you what you want with Entresto. It's going to grow slowly with incremental changes. It's not a primary care drug, AND YOU NEED TO GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEADS ASAP. The CV division doesn't need all these useless managers in place with all these separate teams. It's overkill, and offices are starting to get tired of the bullshit. It's turning into the anticoagulant game now with the constant barrage of reps. Someone needs to teach management a lesson in reality.

Our Management is a bunch of hacks. ABLs particularly, they can't think for themselves. So instead of being where they need to be, w/ the NVS Reps inside the Cardiology offices and doing NVS productive items they keep working w/ the PDI reps that can't give a damn about NVS or Entresto. Even if the PDI contract is extended the PDI people will still not give a damn about Entresto most don't even want to work for us. What was NVS thinking when they made the decision to make 50% of every district uninvested, underpaid team-mates? Half of every CV2 district couldn't give a crap about Entresto and I don't blame the PDI people a bit. So what does NVS Management do? They spend more time time w/ them, like NVS ABLS are going to change them. Normal counter productive behaviors that NVS is known for. Brilliant. HEY ABLs if you are not where you are suppose to be, bettering the NVS business, you might of well just stay home altogether.

Novartis has made a concerted effort to get rid of qualified reps since 2010. They then patch up the situation with more micromanagement, impotent lists that they think will work, and contract teams so they don't have to make an investment in personnel. As long as they refuse to respect the sales force this will continue

I think the ABL's realize "most" of the PDI reps are very good experienced reps. Some are not. Down-sizing in big pharma is a reality. Bills and normal living expenses require the need for a pay check. "Most" of these contract people are no different than you and me. In fact, I can tell you mine is very experienced, professional and an asset to what we're doing out there. Unlikely to be as vested as I am, since he knows the contract is eventually going to end, but I respect that he does the job well. As a descent person would.
Novartis people...we could all end up looking for jobs too. Especially if you've been around awhile. Downsizings are a fact of life. Treat people with respect. It's the right thing to do. You may find yourself in their shoes someday.

Amen! I have Cardiologists that are pissed off saying that we are messing it up by having PCP initiate this product. The ones that are using it want it because it lowers blood pressure. Maybe Novartis is working on this indication. Tread lightly Novartis. We had the CIA for a reason

Well said. Karma can be not so kind at times..

So well put. Couldn't be any more accurate

Earth to Aleshia - Are you reading theses threads? They speak the truth! Call off the dogs (ABL's) and let us do our jobs - This micromanagement environment is only pissing off customers and demotivating the entire sale force - How can you not see and understand this?
