MSNBC has covered it at length. FOX News claims it's just a few "extremists with no agenda", that is why it is spreading all over the country.

Take a look at the picture at the top of this article. I bet that kid thinks it is all corporate greed keeping him from getting a job!

Yep, guess you are right-- with jobs in LA being so plentiful and all.
The unemployment rate in CA is 12.1%., we are in the biggest recession since the depression, yet the rebuplican talikng points still yell out at everyone to go get jobs. This article is highlighting the reasons why people cant get jobs--duh.

Now if you had a brain, you would take a look at WHY California is so much worse off. Liberal policies, sanctuary cities, more people on aid than any other state. Yeah, and no personal responsibility either. The kid in the picture has tattoos from head to toe but can't figure out why he can't get his first job as president of a corporation. The unemployment rate for those with college degrees is very low. Considering a portion of those with degrees are nuts, and a portion have nonsense degrees, 4-5% is very, very low.

The old rules still apply. Get a viable education that translates into a defined career. Be presentable and work your way up. Be willing to start at the bottom and pay your dues. End the envy of those with more than you and, instead, figure out how you can do the same if this is what you want. But no, we should be socialists and have government take over the corporations and give equally to all.

I dont think the govt should take over the corporations, I think there should be more oversight on them; nor do I believe we should all be given "equal" amounts, but I also dont think there should be such a huge disparity in pay from top to bottom.
While I agree with about getting an education translates into a career- I don't know if I believe the 4% statistics- because I see so many layed off, well educated people in multiple industries who cannot find jobs in this recession. I have even read and know Ivy league grads who cannott find jobs.

I think it is very easy for all of us in our cush jobs to judge others and accuse them of not trying to work/look for work ---"why dont they have a job", but we dont know their circumstances, "until you walk in my shoes, may you not judge"

Why not huge disparity? We are a nation that pays someone millions for fake laughter on TV or to slam heads together on a football field. A CEO has made sacrifices to get there. They've earned it. You want that much pay, do what it takes to get there instead of wanting to benefit off thier choices.

How is more oversight, and the nonsense about controlling bonuses and more not government taking over businesses? Because the brick and mortar isn't owned by the USA does not mean it is not government controlled and owned.

Yeah, I know grads without jobs too. Those with degrees in art history, or communications, or some other beginning basketweaving major. So you easily believe the california statistics of 12% but refuse to believe the statistic of low unemployment for college grads. Personal responsibility and personal choice go a long way toward better outcomes in life.

Yes, they have made $$40+++ million$$$ of them. They've earned it. You want that much pay, do what it takes to get there instead of wanting to benefit off thier choices. And let's face it, in order to be a top exec you have to lie cheat and steal to get there, no thank you.
How is more oversight, and the nonsense about controlling bonuses and more not government taking over businesses?Well let's see maybe if there was more oversight on The Banks, and Wall Street-- we might never be in this Financial mess in the first place. Because the brick and mortar isn't owned by the USA does not mean it is not government controlled and owned.

Yeah, I know grads without jobs too. Those with degrees in art history, or communications, or some other beginning basketweaving major. Umhm, well I know enigineers who have been looking for jobs for years becuase theirs have been outsourced by those lovely USA coprporations. So you easily believe the california statistics of 12% but refuse to believe the statistic of low unemployment for college grads. Personal responsibility and personal choice go a long way toward better outcomes in life.

Anything else?

So you want their money, just not what it takes to get there.

Yeah, we all know someone. But it is a small percentage.

No, I do not want their $$$, I never said I wanted to climb the corporate laddder-- that is why I stay in Pharma sales.

You don't want their money, you just don't want them to have it?

Hey, I chose having a large family. That meant opting out of some career choices. I feel sad for many VPs and CEOs who don't even know their kids or spouse. It is rare to find one with a happy life outside of work. But I have no disdain for their success and business savvy, do not slander them because they set their priority as climbing the corporate ladder for money and power, and know some that are great leaders and are just good people. They earned their pay and have the right to keep it. It does not belong to you, me, or the government. Companies have boards and budgets and they determine what is a fair rate of pay. The government should play no role here. Nor should they take more from them than our progressive system already does, claiming it is a "fair" share. A small percentage paying the way for everyone is not fair.

I want them to pay their taxes instead of sheltering them or offshoring them to tax free havens. Some may be great leaders, but more often than not, they are just corrupt.
If you look at the begining of the the industrial revolution, those industrialists or "Robber Barons" as they were called, were always looked at as greedy, money hoarding thiefs, who paid no income tax at the time, while having fortunes that were outrageous and all the while they had slave labor. That is why the tax codes were implemented. This is exactly why we do need govt to regulate these corporations and taxes.
The companies boards are appointed by the CEO, and other board members-- so they choose their own friends and cronies, who in return "VOTE" them a very large salary, who in turn get a " bonus" to be on the baord. See this is a round viscious corrupt circle.
