so to anyone looking at coming here to work needs to look at what they will really net after its said and done. the stuff you have to front yourself is way more than you think and causes your base salary to be reduced to an amount that will equate to you making about minimum wage or less because of the hours you put in. for example

base 35,000
- 4,500 (for a car payment of 375 a month for 12 months)
-1,200 (storage unit rent a year)
-1,200 (cell phone)
-$600 (a set of tires in about a year and a half)
-$900-$1200 (for auto insurance)
i mean come on that is just some of it....the car maintenance needed alone is way more than listed. coolant flushes, oil changes, transmission flushes....
you will net around 20-22k after all is said, then you will struggle with low commission unless you walk into an established territory with great medicaid coverage.

in a nutshell it costs YOU to work here to make THEM money.

You're a r*****. You get paid on work. If you work hard, you'll make over $100k, if you bitch, moan and worry about your car, you'll be lucky to find some place to hire you for minimum wage. I would encourage you to leave.
 












It is true, not all territories are the same and very few reps get to that mark where they are making alot of money. I would say top 10-15 reps make over 80k a year including commission, REMEMBER that those top reps have been here for a long time and sold alot of products in the past where they made money and were able to increase their base salary. There are still a lot of reps who have been here a while who are not makeing anywhere near 80k with commission because they never had medicaid, or because they are in more rural areas.
 












That was then. Zutripro and Rezira are now! Those Medicaid days are over. The playing field is even for everyone. Bottom line, if you're not selling over 80k in Jan-Feb, you'll probably be looking for another job. Everyone stands to make a ton of money this season, but only if you work for it.

Nice post CS

If rep A gets into a territory that was already doing $10K to $15K, and Rep B gets a territory where the previous rep was a fat lazy ass loser. How is that even? We get paid on volume not growth. The only true way to even the playing field is pay us on growth not volume. That way when both reps start they both are at ZERO.

last time I checked reprexain is on TennCare? yeah I thought so.
 






The playing field is not even! When you have areas were you can't get into offices or leave samples, where you have areas that the drs have to follow a formulary, or you are driving hours to see your top decile drs who are mostly medicaid but corporate says you have to go because they area decile 10! it is not an even playing field. We all have challenges some of us more than others but don't judge me if I don't sell as much as someone else. I am seeing the same drs 2 to 3 times a week, I have stocked so its not that it isn't in the pharmacies I am in an area with the highest narcotic problem in the nation and drs DO NOT WANT TO RX A NARCOTIC! I am pretty musch begging for a script or 2, it sucks I am trying my hardest and I am having trouble. Please don't treat me lika an ass.

this place isn't a real estate company where you have to provide evetything to go to work! it's a damn pharmaceutical company. they should NOT be making YOU front the bill for the car, insurance, cell phone to answer office calls, storage unit to store THEIR samples, and making you pay for ALL 100% of maintenance on your vehicle, insurance to drive it (kind of ironic they make you show proof that you are insured) but they dont want to pay for it....its a liability issue....but they want YOU to take on the cost so THEY have less liability when you are driving around WORKING your butt off for THEM!! do you not see how you are being taken advantage of..?!?? Yes you work....you HAVE to just to get back to breaking even with what expenses they require out of you to get going.
you need to wake up and realize you just "bought" a franchise that you don't even own!!!! it should not cost YOU money to GO TO WORK. they are floating on the sales reps back man...wake up!! no matter how hard you work here, it will always be " 100k.........MINUS EXPENSES" go somewhere else and you will make 110-120k with NO expenses easily.

I would venture to say that only 3-5 reps make $100K or more and if you are one of those reps (with the exception of CB) then you should be worried about your job...Hell if you are a rep making more than $60K - $65K a year at this company you should be worried about your job! They always find a "reason" to get rid of reps once they get their base salary up so that they can replace them with someone they only have to pay $35K a year. Max doesn't care about the people that work for him...he cares about money, money, and more money...oh and food, LOL. Why is he going to pay a rep $100k a year when he can fire them, replace them with someone making $35K a year and save himself $65K a year in salary...think about it.

This company has to have one of the highest turnover rates of any company I have ever seen because of their compensation structure (it sounds good at first, but...) and because of the way they treat their reps.
 






Yea ask The HR department how many pregnant girls get fired..... 90%. The 10 that didn't were 1 or 2 of the "pets". And they pin it on something "performance" related. They don't like territories empty and having to hold a job for a girl to have her child. They know the chance that a mom will return is low and get rid of her before she has a chance to stay out for a bit. Worst business practice I've ever seen.

First and foremost...you proved the point that PROFESSIONAL people don't work at Hawthorn. PROFESSIONAL people don't reply in the immature manner that you did and PROFESSIONAL people are not as dillusional as you apparently are about the situation and how business works.

Second...It seems that they have promised that this new product is the next best thing since sliced bread and that you are going to make tons of money as long as you work. FYI...that have said that with EVERY product that have ever launched. You much be new or you would realize that won't happen, lol

Lastly...I no longer work at Hawthorn. I was there for more years than you will probably be and I know exactly how that company is run and how the people at the top treat the reps. I was one of the top reps in sales while I was there and received several raises. I have spoken with Max several times, which is why I said what I did originally. Hawthorn will ALWAYS find a way to cheat the reps out of money, it will obviously just take you a little longer than most to see the writing on the wall.

You're 100% right! figured stooping to your level, as you so eloquently put it- Might help you understand b/c it's very obvious you didn't and still don't get it. But you're right even then you still don't understand. enjoy your other job and quit worrying about Hawthorn! Looking in your rear-view mirror is like checking on that abusive ex that would make you feel ugly but you still come back looking for more.
