Not the same Novartis as 20 years ago….

I’ve been at Novartis for 23 years and I can tell you this used to be THE place to be. It was a company that did the right thing for employees, customers, and yes, patients, even during difficult times such as downsizing. It was a fun place to work and our customers respected us. Now we are the complete opposite…an absolute joke in the industry and a place where loyalty, performance, and initiative are are completely disregarded.

I always hoped to end my run here and to retire with my head held high. Now, unfortunately, that will not be the case. In my late 50’s, I’m forced to go look for another job due to our complete lack of leadership. I’ll survive I’m sure but for those that are in the prime of your career, I would strongly encourage you to find a place where you will be valued and respected. MANY companies treat employees with respect, just not hear anymore….

I wish you all the best of luck. Get out while you can !

I echo your sentiments. It was the place to be. I was at Novartis for 15 years, left for smaller companies and rejoined Novartis recently.
What a change!
What happened?
This company has changed and not in a good way. There is a complete disregard for employees, patients first is only a smoke & mirrors excuse and no one knows what doing the right thing looks like.
I was hoping to find a stable environment where I could perform for the next 10-15 years. It looks like this won’t happen and that I will have to find another place.
The Novartis others aspired to is long gone.

To posters #1 and #2. You both should have heeded your own sentiments and made changes long ago. I can tell you that age-ism in this industry is real and neither of you will like what's in store let alone ahead of you. Just be happy you milked off that Novartis tit as long as you could and hopefully put away some scratch.

Respected by customers? The place to be? There have been so many lawsuits for well over a decade that the respect has been gone for a long time. Employees ignore the obvious while the customers don't forget. What you say that is happening today really has been occurring for many years. You just didn't want to acknowledge it.
