It is so disheartening to see what’s going on here. Lots of good people will be looking and leaving the organization. 10% penalty, what a motivator. The people who jumped ship for BioHaven were very smart. I used to have great work ethic and truly cared; sadly I don’t anymore.

This is why pharma is no longer valued by physicians. We no longer listen to them. I know you want me to come in, but will you please meet with me virtually. I need you to or I will get in trouble. It’s now about me…not them. All of us can pull off the 10%, but at what cost to our relationships. Not only that…next quarter it be 20%. No one listens to the people on the front lines anymore. It is dictated from above. Everyone in the field is sick about this metric. VE is a great tool, but only when used as just that—When it’s the physicians choice. It’s sad to be put in this position.

Physicians do not want you to come in, you, arrogant ass. Outside of samples for patients and feeding the office staff what value do you bring? I know that you feel you are vital to patient care. Especially with the way you read from your detail piece or PI to someone with 3 to 4 times your level of education. How could they practice without you?

back in the day when journals were mailed to HCP's or physician's libraries were on point resources for up to date references, a busy HCP would listened to a rep's detail because time prohibited doing the above.

Like for all of us the internet is a quick reference to answer any unbiased concerns or questions the prescriber may have. This is why them coming to lunches is dwindling? What do we really offer?

Motivation is the desire to act in service of a goal. It's the crucial element in setting and attaining our objectives.

Motivation is one of the driving forces behind human behavior. It fuels competition and sparks social connection. Its absence can lead to mental illnesses such as depression. Motivation encompasses the desire to continue striving toward meaning, purpose, and a life worth living.

Well stated. I find it very questionable when we are told this new metric is above everyone including YL and its direct from Germany. Of all the damn things, they are concerned about virtual engagements?? No, they care about the $ and someone over here (ahem, KR) goes “well we spent a small fortune training reps to use this platform let’s just keep it going, but instead of incentivizing them, let’s demotivate” I asked a few providers their overall thoughts, they said “why would you do that?” Your guess is good as mine doc!
I hate what BI has turned into.

You know what my docs say, “hey if I can help you out, let me know”. Dear god, this did not come from virtual engagements. This came from being in person, creating relationships. Calls are not reading off a slide people. It’s about getting to know someone and body language is a big part of it. Where is that in a virtual. Who ever came up with this idea along with taking our money should be FIRED.

I hope you don’t or never have to deal with depression. Do yourself a favor; instead of reading leadership books, read about depression. It’s very hard to be motivated, competitive or socially connected when depressed………..just ask someone who suffers from depression!!

if there was a ‘depression’ drinking game, I’d be drunk now. In my best Jules Winnfield voice, ‘say depression again, I dare you.’

Our competition is not being forced to do Virtual interactions, they are conducting business f2f, so while we carry out this ridiculous exercise to stroke KR's ego, the competition will win.

Those “journals” were often published by the Pharma companies themselves and lacked peer review. They were also often used in off label promotion. That’s why they’re not around anymore. You overestimate “the value” that was brought back then.
