Hey everyone, Just wanted to give you the latest from EH. cuts will be deep for reps but extremely deep for managers. Cuts to reps will be near the 50% mark. Some of that depends on how many reps you already have in the territory. To say it quickly, you will have 2 reps in your territory period. Going with the PR model for the whole nation. Managers will have a head reduction of around 70%. There will be no more than two managers per state and in most cases, 1 per state. Manages will more than likely have no less than 16 reps to cover. Some of the manager alignment depends on the size of the state and traveling distance. Caught a glimpse of an email earlier this week and the tentative date as of now for layoffs should be the last week of January. This could change but I doubt it. Will be praying for you all and wish you the best of luck. One more thing, no more operating units. Everything will be run from here in EH.

Most of this correct. Time frame off by a month. Dont think of it as territories you currently know. Total realignment. One rep per new carveout geography carries portfolio. Managers will carry no more than 15 , most 12. Same with Man dir. One head of pc out of eh.

Hey..... Why am I flying to Denver to get trained on the patch and reclast to potentially b let go the week after????
Because the company has to cover it's A$$ by showing that they at least gave you Tekturna folks the opportunity to be on par with all the other reps who have viable drugs. Don't worry, it will make the layoffs and even playing field. Denver is nice this time of year, especially if you like to ski. Take your long johns!

If this is the case will be more than 50% of the reps. Wonder if they will have another layoff later this year.

So what you're saying is that current reps will be gone since managers will get first dibs on rep positions. So even though there may be a 70% reduction in managers they will still have jobs!

Hopefully. I have been a manager for a lot of years and would love the opportunity to work in the field before I retire.

Maybe in some cases but not all. They have the same criteria as reps. If they consistently underperform or have hr issues or lack of tenure they should be gone. As for the reps they're are several areas across the country that have 2/3 per pod. The ones with 3 will get hit or 2 if they go to one but there are many more that have 5 per pod so I think that is why they say 50% but it will feel like more in some areas.

Also I know the company got a lot of flack for letting managers take reps spots. Not that the company really cares!

We will just have to wait and see what happens. Novartis is reactive not proactive that's the problem. So as much as it sucks to wait maybe they are actually really thinking it through. Look at the other companies in your area, Pfizer,Merck that have already hit the patent cliff and really nothing to replace...how are they structured? I bet we do almost the same. The question is who stays and who goes and that is what is on everyone's mind...
