You got on this post to rant about what we call the company? Lighten up. Why do you even care? There are those of us who enjoyed working at USS before it was cannibalized by Tyco/Covidien.
 






Agreed. It will always be USS for me, I had 15 great years of USS before 5 shitty years of TYC/COV. My USS years are a badge of honor to me, as opposed to the balance of my time which was more like a black eye.
 












Most of us still call it USS because surgeons, staff, and purchasing readily identify that name. The company was a better place before it went COV. Ask a surgeon that has been operating more than 5 years or so about who pioneered endo mechanical products. They will not say covidien. The answer will be USS or perhaps Ethicon but most of them know USS started it all. To many of the veteran surgeons out there Covidien is a company that sounds like a name for a sexually transmitted disease. Chances are COV has screwed at least 1 rep that the docs have worked with and liked over the years when it was USS.
