Non-Compete Clauses

Novartis made it pretty hard to get a job back with the company after a recent layoff. In order to collect severance I was made to sign a statement that I could never work for Novartis again, not a problem. The real kicker is the non-compete clause. It's hard to find a pharma outfit that doesn't have a competing product. It's tough as nails to break into B2B after pharma. Do you really think Novartis would go after you if you joined a competing company?

nothing to worry

first...they have no time nor way to check on you
(you ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT !!!)

second...non-compete clauses cannot prevent you from earning your livelihood. In other words, if you are a sale rep...that's what you do. What they can prevent you from doing is to hire others away from NVS, or share trade-secrets, ect..

third...DO NOT, DO NOT tell the other companies....even if they ask you in an interview....otherwise they might NOT hire you. Keep this agreement deep in a closet.

place the agreement next to your toilet, and use it as emergency toilet paper for those Irritable Bowel Moments !!!
