No worries if you are legacy Merck

Never understood why bridging is only for legacy Merck and not legacy Schering. Although legacy Schering did get four weeks severance for every year of service up til the end of 2012 with no cap.

Dumb move to remove all Schering if that's the plan. Better to take a second look at some of the legacy Merck for the next wave. We have Merck reps who have big
reputations for working the system.....

SP employees was and still are the worse workers in the pharma industry. They would work hard but never worked smart. The package was charity because they could never find another job. That's true in every department.

As a legacy Merck representative I would take my SP counterpart over any legacy Merck rep any day. Merck reps are mediocre at best. It wasn't always this way, but the fear that senior leadership has installed in the sales team has led to a no drive/no results sales force. The Schering reps always pushed back on this philosophy and never understood it. Obviously, there are very few left now, but I am sure they are better off.

"fear that senior leadership has installed in the sales team has led to a no drive/no results sales force"

Really? What I see are some reps who literally work their butts off every day. These same reps respond to those pressures with fervor, yet are often targeted. Meanwhile, we have other reps who can cut every corner, work the system are elevated as "good workers." Give me a break! This is either comedy central or is everyone on vacation.

When management is not mediocre themselves, they see through the smoke. They right the ship. When you are willing to drill down and evaluate situations from every angle you find the bottom line reasons.

Hey lucky Merck rep! You are a cesspool! That's why SP reps took the package and left. The co. sucks and you acting like you are superior is part of the problem. You and M just don't get it. One co. that works together and appreciates one another. That's why this co. is dying. Be the last on board...the ship still sinks(and stinks)

So, I guess the smart Merck Management are not the ones who have put this company in such a bad position with R&D and morale? I am in primary care and would take my SP rep over the Legacy Merck reps any day. Most of the Merck reps I work with have a sense of entitlement, they are lazy but know the BUZZ words to use so Mgt. thinks they are the best.

Look, it goes without saying that Merck management is an abortion, but I can't stop laughing when reps get into a pissing match about "who is the better rep". Do any of you realize how lame this job has become? What, just because you think you influenced a doctor to use a drug that his patients can't (or won't) get because it is not covered, requires step-edits/prior authorizations, or the patient simply will not pay for. It may be painful for you to hear but doctors have almost no use for you today, and once the government tightens the Sunshine Act thumb-screws further, and lunches go by-by for good, your precious relationships with your "customers" will have about as much value as a major league baseball team trying to pull off a trade with the bat boy!

OOOps, I mean SP employees were (not was) and still are the worst (not worse) workers.....but those of us from Merck communicate like we're 6th graders! Oh yea!
