No coupons, no samples, what's up with that?

We haven't had a chance to order samples since January. We got a whopping 120 coupons. You want us to be a valuable partner to our doctors but how much do they value us when we don't have the resources they need?

Any one that has done this job for any length of time trips over a top 100 qtr. You just want to whine and find others to join the pity party. What does top 100 mean anyway? CM like 300 others...nothing special.

I agree but let's be honest for those with success not much distinguishes presidents club from CE or CE from CM anymore. It's all politics and factors largely beyond our control in individual territories.
 






If the doctors you call on measure your worth in coupons that is your fault. That should be one of the many ways you bring value and not your crutch or access tool.

You obviously work at corporate and are very disconnected from the field. It's this simple, a doctor asks for coupons because they value them and feel that it helps the patient out. There are some doctors who simply love coupons and even though many patients don't redeem them, it just makes those certain doctors more comfortable. So when you are always saying, sorry I don't have the one thing you want, it frustrates them which in turn frustrates us. Of course we do our best to put a positive spin on it and direct them to the web but the point is that you people at corporate don't listen anymore to what the sales force asks for.

I'll just say it, I miss Gary Casto. He really seemed like he cared about the sales force and he delivered what the reps needed and asked for. All you big pharma people are trying to make Shire just like big pharma...which is what doctors hate. Remember when we had abundant coupons and samples, the doctors would say how much they appreciated it because most companies are so stingy with these resources. Well good job guys, we are now just like that.

I guess maybe your strategy is, if we don't give them abundantly they will have more value, which may be true but we could use just a little bit more than what we are getting now.

Tell EVERYONE to order the maximum so at least people who need more can get transfers. The next shipment date is unknown!

I know the Intuniv team is great so it's obvious that someone is preventing them from allowing us to order the correct amount of samples that we wil need for back to school.

Please Dave Bonell explain to us why everything is being cut back? The dropping stock price is simply karma.
 






A doctor said to me today after I told him I have no vyvanse coupons that "he must not be important." I let him know he is important of course and I have no coupons for any of my doctors!

And no it's not my fault, it's yours!
 






Didn't Bonell say that we are getting more coupons in June?? Hello...where are the coupons? Wonder if we will get any coupons for back to school? With the big focus on adults we should have more coupons since adults are price sensitive, at least that's what the docs say

The biggest problem that I have is we selecting 20 docs for Q3, many of them that we have never met, and we zero coupons to add value so that they can try the medication! Give us coupons every quarter! It's not hard...

The only way that Shire will listen is to have physicians compain to Shire directly. Tell your physicians to call Shire and ask for more coupons!!!

Reps need to stay united or we will fail individually
 


















The way I see it we get paid a 6 figure comp package to bring value. Check your redemption reports, most of our docs that complain about coupons never use them anyway- ist just a smokescreen. i would much rather have the budget go towards head to head studies. Yea their may be a very small % of patients that really need the coupon, but with most- we are talking about $1 or $2 a day difference- maybe. We have a job - We provide value/ education to our physicians- What do they get from the generic companies? Do they think Teva makes any less of a margin then we do? We were spoiled in the past and could treat coupons like toilet paper. An inside sales force can mail out coupons- and do it a lot cheaper than we do. i think we better remember that. Sure id prefer more than I can use, but Im happy here to have my job with or without coupons- I get paid to do more than talk about a coupon every call- plus I am more than just a pretty face and dropping coupons doesnt prove that.

Honey, I think you nailed it. I wrote it and I have been a rep here for almost 10 years. Unfortunately- we have too many reps like you that cant think without a script. I wish i could go back to competing against you for special incentive-Now I know why it was such easy money-I have beauty and brains, and use them both.
