No Arcapta for General Medicines!

The plan was never for Gen Med to launch Arcapta. BG and others have said this from the beginning. The new model for launches is to launch in specialty first then expand out as the indications and business dictates. They are hiring a specialty force just like they were about to do with Ilaris to launch. Primary care will get arcapta within a year or so after the launch if the indications and business show what they need to. Arcapta is just the first of many COPD combinations. Those will most likely be more of a primary care drug. Nothing has changed, this has always been the plan. Just hope the med actually takes off, the bigger dose eventually gets approved and the combos pan out as well.

Im not sure about the hiring of the specialty sales force. If that is the case they haven't even posted the jobs and it is 2 months away. They were going to hire for Ilaris about 3 months before launch

100% correct. RTI got the announcement this afternoon. Xolair Team is lead launch.

How could it have been any other way? With the limited indication why would GenMeds have the capabilities? If anything it's a classic bait and switch to string primary care reps along right up to the downsizing...
