"Nike Inc. and Anheuser-Busch announced Wednesday that they will end their contracts with Lance Armstrong, endorsement deals that once earned the embattled cycling star millions of dollars.

The moves comes a week after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released reports that outlined the extent of doping allegations made against Armstrong when he won the Tour de France seven years in a row from 1999 to 2005. The USADA banned Armstrong from cycling for life and stripped him of the titles he earned during his 14-year career, including those Tour wins"

Good God. Nike didn't even do that to Kobe or Tiger. Looks like Lance failed their stink test. It's reported to cost him $150M or more in future earnings. Ouch!

I wonder if this will make his loyal fans run in the opposite direction too?

Now will Congress subpoena him to testify - like they did to Clemons and Bonds?

The white shoe boys in Congress love to sucker punch the athletes who fall from grace.

But all those banksters who cleaned us out in 2008 walked away without a scratch.

Funny how all that shit works. ;)

'Lance' is a very unusual name. The last 'Lance' that I can recall was Lance Alworth who played in the NFL.

Anybody old enough here to remember him?

Oh, I guess there was Lance Rentzel too.

But his career didn't end very well either.

But I'm sure that was all way way before your time.

If I had a boy I probably wouldn't name him Lance. But hell. That's just me.

Lance Rentzel liked girls, but the wrong age (even in the late 60's). Dude was married to Joey Heatherton, among the hottest of her time. Charges were dropped as I recall. Knew a guy in High School with an older brother named Lance. Lance was killed outside a bar, when he got drunk and started mouthing off to some off-duty Cops. A couple of them did prison time as a result. A star-crossed name, definitely.

Looks like Lanceroo finally got stripped officially of his 7 touring titles. He is now a pariah in the professional cycling circles. The evidence of doping must have been overwhelming. Now I'm waiting for the freaks in Congress to form a committee to investigate doping in cycling and subpoena Lanceroo as their first witness. A Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens replay, if you will. I think most of the males in Congress were geeks as teenagers and adolescents and hated sports. And they harbor a secret resentment toward athletes. That's why they tend to target athletes in their investigations and leave the crooked banksters alone. A payback of sorts for all those years of watching the athletes get the best looking girls and the public noteriety, while the intellecuals and bookworms got shat upon.

Oh, and anybody with a brain must know that enhancers are rampant in professional sports. Come on. You don't get that fracking big and bulked by eating Wheaties. And to anyone who thinks they do: Grow up.

With everything else being equal - a guy who does steroids will outcompete a guy who doesn't. First time, every time.

And I bet chemical consultants are just as valued as financial consultants in the wide world of pro sports.

The only Lance I've ever heard of is "Big Lance" who is Bubba's boyfriend in prison.
