Next Stop After Covidien

Where are people going to after covidien, where it is actually a step up? The obvious one is Intuitive, but other than that?

Be careful going to Intuitive. Great products but short tenure track. 3 years is a long career there.
But moving up after Covidien isn't a given. The turnover is higher than ever and with so much paper out in the street from EMID and EBD, the talent pool is pretty diluted. Having Covidien on your resume ain't what it used to be.

I know a few that have gone to Acclarent, Abbott and Cooper Surgical within the last year. Tough thing is if you are making good money there, $150k plus, there are not many openings to match where you are currently so you have to decide how badly you want to leave Covidien. Especially the vets/ original hernia reps who have that 90-100k base. It's tough to take a 30-40k hit for a new position if the overall comp is lateral. It's easier to walk with 3-4 years in than 10+ there.
