So someone help me. We are years away from =the next generation. We just dumped one and only have one left but it looks ok. So, Gilead, Pharmasset, is probably less than 2 years away and we are far from that. What are we going to do? I know we have 2 solid years. I get it. but?

But much improved, and improving so far, from the absolute disaster left by Bush. Two years is a long time. There is no drug company that can offer you long term stability, none. When Pharmassett and Gilead are ready, you are poised to be a great candidate for those jobs, IF vertex is not viable. The number of people with HEP C experience is very small. Companies desire sales people with specific experience. There is no room for debate on this point. Just check your classified ads.

Yuck, but very true and you know it. Remove your partisan hatred and just look at the facts. The economy is far better off today, than it was four years ago, on any objective measure. For crying out loud, we were tinkering of the verge of a great depression, when Bush left office. You hate Obama, and thats fine, but no one can credibly say that the country is worse off today, than it was four years ago.

The only thing thats worse today is the budget deficit, and the only thing that he did to contribute to that was the stimulus (800 B), which virtually all economists say led to millions of jobs, but complain was too small. The rest of the deficit increase came from Bush legacy (2 unpaid for wars. massive unpaid for tax decrease, unpaid for med-d, depression type economy leading to lower revenues, and higher expenses ie unemployment ins, food stamps, etc)


For all those who choose to argue, please be specific about how the economy was better four years ago, when we were losing 700k jobs per months. Please provide facts, not rhetoric. George Bush is the new Jimmy Carter.

HELLLO! Reality check, perhaps reading the Wall St Journal may assist the uneducated poster! Unemployment worst in the last 4 years then ever in Bush Adminstration.
Recent Wall St Journal article comparing the "recovery" of Obama Adm vs FDR Adm and Obama's is faring much worse.

Let's not mention what he has done to the biopharma and pharma sector. Most companies are now EU based, vaccine, all in the EU, most new developments now coming out of EU.
We have 100,000 less jobs in our industry today due to Obama policies, yet if we were all part of the SEUI UNION we would have had a bail out by now.

Economic stimulus has done nothing for the private sector it simply manipulates and puts people into short term jobs to get them off the statistics kept for unemployment!

By the way with so many losing higher incomes they have now entered the underemployed ranks, making 1/3 to 1/2 of their previous income.

I love the blame Bush mantra- how long has Obama occupied the office? yest almost 4 yrs.
My guess is most of us who had such a CRAP record would be fired- so to should this charlatan. He has never lead, he has never proposed but one program or solution- Obamacare which in his arrogance he loves since that will be his legacy.

Lastly, I have worked in the UK and the NHS and if you wonder why the UK has undergone an austerity budget and program it is largely due to the fact that the government is one of the poorest job producers and when they do the price for each job is exorbitantly high- see the reference to the economic stimulus. Irrespective of your party affiliation Obama's performance has been poor, when we laud a unemployment report of 7.8% the press is spinning for their community activitst, the one true thing that Obama is good at!

Tough to teach your children about accountability and responsibility when the highest office in the land is occupied by someone insistent on blaming that last guy! I suspect if all of us did that at our current roles here, we would be counseled, perhaps that is what Obama needs!

What happened to HOPE I guess that is not a strategy- just rhetoric!
For most families without the income they once had or out of jobs- a loss of HOPE is all they have! How has the economy affected the Obama's well Barrack just requested his wife get paid for her role as First Lady- another first for good ole Barrack- unbelievable!
